I opted for the cable car ride up instead of hiking it on foot as many people said it would be a strenuous journey. It wasn't the be all end all, but still a lot of fun.

Amazing natural geological cave system in the Rock of Gibraltar. Fantastic caves with great light show

Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as we didn’t see any wheelchair access and there are steps to negotiate on touring and exiting the caves.

Informative and interesting history of the development of the cave defence system of Gibraltar. Of particular interest was the James Bond author, Ian Fleming’s link to the use of the tunnels during WW2 and also the evacuation of Gibraltar’s civilian population.

The Europa Point Lighthouse, also referred to as the Trinity Lighthouse at Europa Point and the Victoria Tower or La Farola in Llanito, is a lighthouse at Europa Point, on the southeastern tip of the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula, at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea.
On clear day you get view of the Atlas mountains in Morocco.

We saw lot of Barbary macaque when we visited on the Rock of Gibraltar. Those are used to people so taking photos is relatively easy. But don't eat anything, because monkey try to steal food if it's possible.

Small but beautiful botanic garden complex about 15 or 20 minutes walk from Main Street. I really enjoyed a ramble in such a peaceful place. Completely free and lots of benches scattered around to sit on and enjoy the place.

For over 20 years major developments have continued here. Substantial residential plus numerous restaurants and cafes are available.

Marinas are a further attraction and multitudes of crafts of all kinds were to be seen.

Some time before travelling checked the cable car website, but seemingly too far in advance as there was then no mention of its closure during February.

So a tad disappointed to be told in-situ that it was undergoing maintenance and not available. However while on the Rock saw its route at various times.

So maybe next time will experience a trip on it.

Set in the lovely gardens it was enlightening to see the numerous animals that are so well looked after.

It was fascinating to discover that the area it occupied was originally a miniature golf course that had descended into neglect. With an ever increase in the animals being rescued it was decided to use the location for the care of the animals.

Casemates is a sunny area (at most times) in which to sit and enjoy a coffee and snacks at the half a dozen or so outlets/cafes without being forced by time constraints to move on, especially at the non peak times where locals and tourists alike can while their time prior to carrying on a few yards to Main Street shopping. It's served at most times by pubic toilets although on our latest visit it closed at the weekend inconveniencing many.
Sadly a couple of the half decent cafes operate a priority admittance policy at weekend lunchtimes where, however many times you've spent time and money at their tables in the week, only a full meal is an acceptable order. This whether the tables are fully used or not. Two who operated this policy when we tried to take coffees and snacks, are Rock Cafe and Latinos, both of whom welcomed us with open arms earlier in the week.

Stunning setting for a lunchtime meal. Food was lovely but both staff and restaurant had that 'end of the season' feel. I left a tip for those who served us but they cycled off home! It must be a real magnet during the high season because of its location overlooking the sea. It also seemed to be the only place to eat at Catalan Bay.

Great views from the Windsor Suspension Bridge - aim to go early and you may be the only one around to get the best photos. It is a bit rocky - and not the stable at times (but is totally secure). You get to feel the wind whipping across you, and in the middle, you get great views of the bay.

Great views of the Rock and east coast of Gibraltar. As the Skywalk is located in the National Park, access is included in your park ticket cost.

This beautiful castle is located in Sintra which is just a train ride of about 20 minutes from central Lisbon. On arrival many desks and tours touting for visitors. So, if you get the ticket which takes you on the hop on hop off bus you can decide. However, my suggestion and from my experience is to go to Pena Palace first as the queues are much longer. Then Moorish castle and then Sintra town itself. The other castles and palaces if you have time and started very early.

Moorish castle though is lovely and there’s some great views as it was built as a Military fort about the 10th century. Still looks amazing and also make sure you have good treaded shoes as steep too.

Nice Monument but as others have said, it's all about the view.
Just inside the entrance to the Nature Reserve, it has a raised viewing area from where you get brilliant views of Morocco across the sea, as well as the bay twords Alegeciras.
