- sand4manHouston, TX18 contributionsIncredible trip. Really a romantic city and lots to do. Highly recommend. Happy we came. Will visit again. My wife and I felt it was a great trip!Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wireless_in_CAUnited States4,994 contributionsFor those seeking a local, more spacious and less touristy market then this could be one for your visit.
We came on a weekday around noon and it was very quiet inside. Individual counters were selling fresh seafood, meats, and fruits and vegetables. There was a coffee and pastry shop in the front and a place in the back selling local dishes by the kilogram.
We ended up picking up some iberico jamon and salchichon sausage that we snacked on along with a fresh baguette and fruit we also purchased.
Another reason to check out the market is the unique wavy roof above. Colorful tiles on the outside and wooden inside added to the distinctiveness.Written 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s free to access the rooftop if you go into the shopping centre and use the escalators. There’s a number of bars and restaurants up there too. View is nice.Written 17 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

We perhaps chose the wrong day being a Saturday so crowded lots of children, therefore noisy. On the whole we a mission for particular items but we side tracked and ended up spending hours & buying lots of things well beyond the planned items. Overall we enjoyed it. - Thomas VOakland, CA16,858 contributionsThis covered municipal market serves this local area. You won't find a lot of tourists here, but you will find a lot of food to buy. Nice displays. Some market cafes surround it.Written 6 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ViaBenGreater London, UK859 contributionsNice, lively market selling a mix of cheap clothing, household goods, collectables, old knick-knacks, second-hand fashion, and fabrics.
The market has been around for seven centuries and is now located in a modern and beautiful building, with a shiny golden roof, and the atmosphere is busy and untouristy.Written 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The real hidden gem is down the road at Superilla Peatonal Sant Antoni - a road junction turned into a picnic area, with range of food shops etc to indulge in; either grab a bite from the Mercat or closer by and enjoy the world going by as its a popular place.Written 16 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Ended up meeting the very lovely artist behind the work we fell in love with and bought. Go check her out on IG @ivanafloresart .... - Ms_R33480Palm Beach, FL748 contributionsThis is not a huge market but it has a good selection of meats, fish, vegetables, charcuterie, etc. And unlike many of the larger markets in the center of Barcelona this one doesn't cater to tourists, most of the shoppers are locals. There is even a wine stand that sells wine directly from the barrels.
Products tend to be fresh and of good quality and prices average for the area. The floor below the market holds Mercadona, a very large supermarket with everything one may need.
Try to have lunch at one of the several dinning areas, many of which are an extension of the merchant's stands, they have only a few tables, or in some cases you can eat at the counter. We had a great menu del dia at MB's in a corner of the market, attached to a butcher's shop with about 8 small tables. Good food, well prepared, three plates and a drink for 16.50 euros. The service was excellent, friendly and on top of everything, they actually cared that you enjoyed your meal.Written 3 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrMrsHappyRLiverpool, UK1,223 contributionsGreat shopping centre over 3 floors with a good variety of shops with a few restaurants and a supermarket. There is also a superb good market on the lower level with lots of independent food stalls. Nice and clean.
