Fundacion Cesar Manrique Costa Teguise
#2 of 26 Museums in Lanzarote
His Foundation offers various museums and both his homes are an absolute joy to visit.
Part home, part museum, part art gallery, part realisation of a dream, the Fundacion blends subterranean spaces, surface landscape and architecture in a fascinating way, unique to the island.

Brilliant museum in the volcanoes of Lanzarote, with a really famous and humerous story behind it, and it is also impeccably presented.

This is a newly created centre and is part of a network of museums created to protect nature and experiment with the beauty of the island.
Loved this, the museum is excellent with a great display of beautifully restored and preserved brass equipment.

It was a truly unexpected and wonderful experience, another example of Cesar Manrique's genius, what other country celebrates its peasants with such a monument and museum.
There is a small museum and arts and crafts exhibition, as well as a snack bar, and a beautiful underground restaurant.

Fantastic aviation museum charting the development of the airport and its role in the growth of tourism on the island.
We were very glad we took the trouble to visit the museum it truly was an airport from the past, and we would recommend anyone with any kind of interest in airports and planes from the past, to have a trip out.

The museum feels very genuine since they still have goats (adorable ones), dromedaries and many chickens the run around and the farm has been/is used for real.
It was very atmospheric wandering around this rustic agricultural museum with piped Canarian music even outside in the courtyards!

It is a free museum and full of information on everything relating to the history of the volcanoes of Lanzarote and further afield .
Very informative museum

One of the best museums here and had plenty of English translations to read and follow on the film.
The castle containing the museum sits on the edge of the Volcano of Guanapay and we spent about an hour walking round the volcano admiring the amazing views and then walking down in and back up out of the crater.

We timed our visit to the exceptionally stylish and beautifully converted museum so as to stay on to eat if we liked the look of the restaurant.
This contemporary art museum is housed in an 18th century fort restored and renovated in 1975 at the initiative of César Manrique.

Museo Etnografico Tanit San Bartolome
#18 of 26 Museums in Lanzarote
The museum fills every corner of an impressive old winery, even including a cosy table and chairs in a disused water cistern where the ever artistic Remy reputedly loves to play bridge when the museum is closed.
What a wonderful, quirky and interesting museum!
