Altstadt Quedlinburg Quedlinburg
Our personal favorites: the town hall and its Roland statue, the very narrow end of the Schuhhof alley , the panoramic view upon the roofs from castle hill (Schloßberg) and the cosy Finkenherd square.
Awesome German Hertitage Site
Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Worlitz Worlitz
... interior or a 'row boat' ride [not self propelled] around the 'lake' this turned out to be the nicest part of the day, being rowed along the sights from the boat, the tranquility and beauty well worth the time!!!
We enjoyed this gondola ride in Worlitz Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as an excursion with Viking's Elbe river cruise.
Naumburg Cathedral Naumburg
The cathedral , also "Dom" , St.Peter and Paul is UNESCO world heritage site and one of Germany's most important late romanesque-gothic churches which dates back to the 13th century.

It's a landmark, a symbol of Magdeburg.
Magdeburger Dom Magdeburg
The west front literally towers above the square below and the towers can be climbed on the inside to give magnificent views over the city, the river Elbe, and as far as the Harz mountains.
Cost: free Location: about a 10 minute walk from central bus station Look out for: Otto's burial site (King who united Germans) Size: enormous *check out the model of the area (to your left) when you enter!
Castle Church Wittenberg
At that height eight pointed arch windows with an elaborate and complex tracery let a stupendous view over divers parts of the city of Wittenberg be enjoyed.
See the burial sites of Luther and Melanchthon inside, along with a unique altar.
Bauhaus Dessau Foundation Dessau
Today it can be seen as a pilgrimage site for designers from all around the world.
Wernigerode Castle Wernigerode
Wonderful views of Wernigerode and the Harz mountains.
The castle provides stunning views across Wernigerode and is full of interesting rooms, artefacts and pictures.
Lutherhalle/Lutherhaus Wittenberg
Luther's house, the former Augustinian monastery built in 1504, is one of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Wittenberg and the surrounding area.
... etc. Signboards give a good perspective on the spiritual impact of Luther's discoveries, and third floor gives a balanced view of the love/hate relationship with which Luther was viewed through the centuries.
Stadtkirche, a World Heritage Treasure Wittenberg
With the densest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, the town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg is a living treasure place of history.
This church is a World Heritage Site - and quite rightly so! Walk around it and go inside.
Luther 1517 Wittenberg
Make sure you climb the steps to the platform to get a better view, and study the painting to discover what's going on both in the foreground and background.
The changes from night to day were useful for working out which bits to view next.
The Dessau Masters' Houses Dessau
It is an indispensable site to view.
Stadtkirche Sankt Marien Wittenberg
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996, the Town and Parish Church of St. Mary's is the oldest building in Wittenberg.
While the Castle Church is more well known as the site of that historic event, Stadtkirche Sankt Marien is actually Martin Luther's own church.
Church of St. Servatius Quedlinburg
Wonderful views of the town.
