Kaiserburg NĂĽrnberg is a palace included in the Bavarian Castle Pass (14 day or annual). Our family visited the Kaiserburg NĂĽrnberg in Sept. 2024. We found that the castle ground is standard and normal. However, what shined was the history explanation of the castle, the view from the Castle Tower (included in the ticket price), and especially the excellent tour given at the well of the castle.
We find that the young man who was given the well of the castle tour that day to be particular energetic, and gave an excellent English tour (which were the majority of the audience that day, only one guest indicated that she can speak German). His witty narrative helped us appreciating the construction and the maintenance needed for the well of the castle, and greatly improved our experience.

We visited Courtroom 600, located on the second floor of the Palace of Justice. This was the venue of the Nazi war trials that captured the world's attention post WWII. We also visited the Memorial Nuremberg Trials exhibit located on the remainder of this floor. Shown is the dock where the accused sat, the door thru which they entered the courtroom, and the bench where the four justices sat (one from England, France, the Soviet Union, and USA). Leah was very moved by what had occurred here 80 years ago.

This is the largest church in Nuremberg and is a twin-towered 14th-century Gothic church. The church is filled with many works of art which have been donated by the richer classes over centuries. Be sure to see the unique three-part organ boasting over 12,000 pipes, which is said to be one of the largest such instruments in the world.

Fascinating walk through history and art. The audio tour was excellent but even though I’d researched in advance, I hadn’t found the download to my own phone in advance option and neglected to bring my headphones. If you can, do that otherwise it’s 3 euros to rent theirs. Still worth it.

This central square in the old town is surrounded by sights you must not miss on your visit to Nuremberg. Of particular note are the Schöner Brunnen, the gilded “beautiful fountain” with tiers of figures, and Frauenkirche, a 14th-century Gothic church.

This Roman Catholic Church (Church of Our Lady) dates back to 1352 and is located on the central square. If you are nearby at noon be sure to stop and see the Männleinlaufen, a beautiful old clock that was installed in 1506 with mechanical figures representing the seven Electors pacing around Emperor Charles IV.

This place is currently undergoing some sort of restoration, but probably at a slow pace, as there were no workers visible.
There are photos, how it looked before. It was completely demolished and a lot of work was done. But it is not enough yet - half of the place is closed for safety reasons, documentation center is closed too and the only information, you can get on boards is, how is are the restorations going, what is the intended state and how much it was damaged before. No relevant information on the history.
4* is the historical authenticity. If you are already in Nuremburg, dont miss it. If you plan to visit Nuremburg to see it, dont do that, you will be disappointed.

It is easy to see why this is called "beautiful fountain". Designed in the 1380s by Heinrich Beheim, a stonemason, it was intended to top the Frauenkirche. When completed the townspeople decided it was too glorious to be so far removed and it was transformed into a fountain. It stands at an impressive 19 meters high and is bedecked in gold. It contains a seamless copper ring on the north side of the fence that has been rubbed to a golden hue from people's touch as they turn it full circle and make their wishes for the future.

As a big fan of Durer’s work… this made me appreciate all the museums & galleries I have visited where I saw the originals. His reach really is incredible. Slightly disappointed though not to see an original work in his former home.
The tattoo exhibition is very interesting!

This is a review on the tower tour at night. Don't miss this special tour. The night view of the old town is remarkable, especially during the Christmas market time. It requires climbing of many steep stairs. The only downside is the tour is available in German only. For non-German speakers, my translation app could only translate about 30% of the content, but the view is well worth it.

You never knew how big the Nazi's held rallies until you see the size of this complex! Apparently 250,000 people could stand here for hours on end. The grandstand alone is the length of four football fields send by end.

WeiĂźgerbergasse, is a picturesque alley in the heart of Nuremberg. This charming street is a journey back in time, with its cobblestone pavement and colorful half-timbered houses lining both sides. The street creates an intimate atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely walk or some quiet exploration. It's a very quaint neighborhood with some beautiful buildings.

This rather grotesque fountain plots the sad course of marriage from dating to death. It is located in the pedestrian shopping area next to the White Tower.

The first townwalls were built in 13th century, later they were confirmed several times. They surround the Old Town. They are almost 5kms long and 7-8ms high and they have about 100 bastion towers. Walking along them is very romantic, we enjoyed it very much. You need comfty shoes, but it’s worth, because the view is magnificient. It’s a must-see site.
