What travellers are saying
- BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia17,760 contributionsThe beaches of Le Havre stretch along the city's western part, right by the center. There's a huge free parking lot along it.
I found it a very pleasant place to walk, have a drink and take some photos, but I doubt I'd swim there even in peak summer season. The beach is of huge pebbles, difficult to walk on, I saw no sand by the sea.Written 16 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian MAshbourne, UK602 contributionsRunning from Caen to Thury Harcourt, over almost 17 virtually flat miles, with a few gentle rises, and quite possibly the smoothest surface of any cycleway we have ridden. The trail meanders along the often wooded Orne valley following the river course. It is extremely well signposted, plus distance makers (in km) every few hundred metres. However there are virtually no places to get a drink en route, so remember to take drinks with you. Combined with a lunch (from 12-2pm only) in Thury Harcourt, this is a really pleasant active day out from Caen. Of course the trail is also suitable for walking and rollerblading. It is possible to access the trail at a number of other points along its route.Written 4 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Colin DCrete, Greece11 contributionsI spent two leisurely days cycling from Dieppe to Fecamp on this route, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys touring on a bike. The route is mostly on the course of old railways - paved, and with many nice places to stop, rest and picnic. Even the 'link' section in the middle is across very quiet, good roads, through intriguing and beautiful countryside. Accommodation was not easy to find. In the end I spent the day before cycling around Dieppe, and stayed in an F1 (a fascinating experience - my bike was right next to my bed) and found a place in Luneray to break the journey. If you're travelling in summer, take your swimming things, as the beaches at Dieppe and Fecamp are great.Written 1 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
