Absolutely one of the best spots in France! Tucked away off the west edge of the Forêts of Eu. This garden has the most plant varieties of any garden in Europe. If you are into plants this is a GEM of a permaculture jungle garden!!! Highly recommend.

I reccomend you go early, MsM gets really popular and it is better to do this walk when you are not sharing it with a long long stream of visitors! See my photos for the difference...

I’ve wanted to come here for years and came

I wasn’t bowled over as I thought I maybe but it was still lovely

The gardens are beautiful but need a bit more explanations to fully appreciate

Lovely little village. It was hard to find the tourist office and we had to ask around. Few cafes and beautiful walks. Lunch was good too. Highly recommend visiting this village with nice views of the ocean. Parking is free and plenty of public toilets.

Exceptionally beautiful garden, a plantsman's delight. Divided up into many sections separated by hedging and sheltered by mature trees. The plantings are themed in each section - the garden of the angels, the garden of the sun, etc - and the plants carefully labelled. Reconstructions of traditional buildings of the Pays d'Auge are set amongst the gardens giving the impression of a centuries-old setting, yet one discovers that 30 years ago this was merely a field. A very successful creation. Sadly the creperie was shut on the day of our visit - it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Beautiful park, very well maintained with most animals in semi wild state. The house is stunning too. Staff lovely and the entrance fee reasonable. It's worth the visit and perfect for families. It took us couple of hours strolling to walk around the whole park.

Always love a visit to Chausey - such a wild but beautiful place.

Enjoyed a walk ashore to admire just how scenic the place is. The difference in the landscape at low and high tide is something to behold.

Beautiful oasis in a lovely city. Good to see how well used the park is on a weekday by people of all ages. Beautiful flower beds, lovely colour combinations. We especially liked the handkerchief tree and the amazing vertical staircase. Peaceful places to sit and a children's play area

The gardens are free to enter and only a short walk from the marina area. Emmanuel Liais was a Cherbourg mayor back in 1900 and the gardens were established on his former property with plants and specimens collected during his travels. A large greenhouse is full of tropical plants and in the grounds there’s a museum in the former Manor House but unfortunately it was closed on the Saturday afternoon I visited.

This garden was much larger than we expected. The left half is a true botanical garden, with lots of different specimens of plants, ranging from edibles to flowers, etc. In the middle there is a small playground with free toilets/bathrooms. To the right (up the hill) is a large wooded area with picnic tables and walking trails. We brought lunch here from a local boulangerie and really enjoyed ourselves.

Just a warning… this wonderful house and garden has been close for a few years, see third web site. It has a new owner and one can only hope it will reopen soon

About an hour from where we were staying was this gem, was 27 euro each to get into the house and grounds although as it was Sunday house wasn’t open until 2 in the afternoon.
Good parking near to the entrance and stables nicely converted into a cafe on one side and a shop on the other side. The grounds are massive have loads of hidden treasures and would take you most of the day to go around them. The house which didn’t open until 2pm today is also full of treasures and told a great story of what life would have been like when it was in its hay day.
Great day out for all ages.

Lovely gardens and lots of species of plants, trees and flowers to see we were also lucky to see peacocks. The children’s play area was very tired and could do with some upgrades however overall well worth a visit while in Rouen
