Expansive sand beach with such a very sad history of war. Was there near the end of day so missed the cemetery. Certainly a stop for those interested in war history.

Solid museum that covers the Utah Beach landings and much of the background to the D-Day beach landings. A number of mementos, equipment, and artifacts to be seen here including a bomber inside the hangar. Well done exhibit which also includes a 10 minute film (runs in French and English) on the Utah Beach landings in 1944. Gift shop at the end. Bathrooms on site and free parking. Also a small eatery just outside that is open depending on the time of year. The museum rests right over a German position which you'll be able to see through the windows towards the end of the tour. Very well done and worth the stop.

Spent 2-3 days in the area. This is the visit we still talk about. Apart from Arromanches-les-Bains, which was so crowded we could not stop. Note that all the bad reviews of Maisy pare quite old and hopefully will disappear. You need to visit Point du Hoc first, and if you ever get in, then parked, then keep to the walkways …it’s fine. Do some reading before you visit and seek to impose your reviews on the humble reader. Expect a couple of hours’ fascinating historical entertainment at Maisy. Bit of a job to find, but surely that was the point. Do not expect Disneyworld. Hot and dry when we went, but I can see mud might me an issue when wet. Take wellies just in case. Real hardware to be found there … who has ever stood next to 5+ tons of killing machine? I have been to Nürnberg and Munich (we have family there). Here, the Germans pay tribute to 20th century history by preventing things from falling down, but not really preserving them. Maisy is along those lines. Yes, someone could spend big money on it, but this would not be the point of it all. So, go …take your wellies …pay your €7 … remember the suffering and loss 80 yrs ago …and go home and tell everyone.

An important part of history with well preserved landmarks along the way. On a warm, sunny day it's also a nice beach. There are multiple spots with pill boxes you can walk to along with museums and cemeteries to pay respect.

An amazing day. Francois is very knowledgeable and courteous. He took us through the American sector. I learned quite a bit. Overall a moving experience.

Great experience, grateful to be able to see this in person. This was one of a few stops in a tour that we took out of Paris.

I'm glad we visited Pointe du Hoc. It was interesting to see the German munitions sites. It's amazing that the American troopers were able to scale the cliffs so quickly although there were a lot of casualties. This is one of those places were seeing it first hand increased my understanding of what took place here.

We are glad we finally visited the Normandy area of France and the extensive history that lies along these shores. The amazing feat of a temporary harbor is just incredible to see first-hand. To see some of what remains from 1944 is proof it all happened here. We were there at high tide so unable to walk on the beach, but many pieces are still remaining to see. The town of Arromanches-les-Bains is nice to walk around and enjoy for a few hours.

First of all, do not follow Google maps if you're trying to find this monument, as well the 1 US infantry division one and German bunkers. They will take you on a 15 min detour drive.
All of these monuments are just down the path from the American cemetery parking lot in the opposite way from the cemetery itself.

A sombre monument to a great inspirational man. The monument is well maintained which is the least the French can do.

Hill 112 is nice place to stop for about ½ hour. I was a battle that took about 6 weeks, and the view is very good of the surrounding fields. Not a lot to see, but good starting point for rest of Normandy d-day fields.

I brought two 2nd WW RAF typhoon ground crew gentlemen here in March 2018 and they were delighted to see this memorial which they didn't know existed. Its got a list of pilots from various squadrons that flew typhoons in the area and were unfortunately killed whilst serving. Well worth a stop to pay your respects.
