From start to finish, Marcel made the tour fun, informative and inclusive for everyone, including our children aged 11 and 12. It was great to learn a bit of history, French traditions, and of course taste some delicious food! We won’t give too many ‘secrets’ away, but this is a must-do tour for anyone visiting Paris. Marcel was more than happy to share information about restaurants, transport, Paris highlights, and general tips to make our travels easier around the city too. The ambience was enchanting, the food lovely & enough; the service was well-mannered, smart, friendly & upbeat; the singer & music was just right - not too loud and in your face adding to an upbeat & jovial atmosphere; and the star of the night - seeing Paris at night. What a great city and to see it from this vantage point, where the boat glides elegantly at a fitting speed was bewitching. We had the cheapest service - "Etoile" and that was fine and had great views. - Prathana N5 contributions5/5 - We were first guided by Arthur to the RER station which was easy to understand as we were to take the train back by ourselves. He was very engaging with the group and friendly as well. After helping us reach our museum guide at Versailles, we were greeted by Raman. Raman is a very knowledgeable individual who also keeps track of history in contemporary sources- he made the tour much more interesting with all the fun facts he had and couldn’t have had made this 3 hour guide better! I only wish we could’ve explored the gardens a little more but within the 3 hour time frame, I can understand the limited coverage on the gardens. Versailles is a place to spend more than one day in for sure but if you have very limited time on your hands, then this guide will be sure to fulfill your expectations. - MS4Carrollton, TX63 contributionsEverything was great except the tour company gave only 3 hours to explore, which was not enough, and this was on September 9th, which was Monday. I breezed through the site, not listening to the audio guide, and was still rushing to get back and not miss the bus. Another hour, as mentioned in the description, would have been great to sit and enjoy the views, have a bite to eat in the village, and not order takeout and run towards the exit. That's the only thing I did not like. Otherwise, the bus was Mercedes Benz, clean, comfortable ride, I thought the bus might have been brand new. Driver drove smoothly, fellow passengers were quiet, tour guide Kritika was helpful with setting up the audio guide app and giving all the necessary info for the day, and shared the history.
I have a suggestion for Trip Advisor: please add attention note about the meeting point and that it is a small church near Hyatt Regency Hotel in the 17th Arrondissement, and that is to not be confused with the Historic Notre Dame cathedral. I almost ended up putting the world famous Notre Dame Cathedral address for my ride, but a gut instinct made me copy and paste the meeting point address. They carried out a fire alarm test. No problem, of course ... except that it went on for a good five minutes! Unnecessary in my view.
Positives:
They allowed us to go on a later boat than our ticket stated :)
Lots of room on boat and options of where to sit :)
Toilet on boat :)
The commentary was absolutely superb:
- no "jokes that aren't funny";
- lots of details about all the landmarks we passed;
- in good French and good English;
