- wghatcherCary, NC20 contributionsWe had a great time on this beautiful course. We did get to experience some rainy day golf. But there is drying gear in the locker rooms and a great pub to relax at while our rain gear dried out a bit.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Stewart IKing's Lynn, UK41 contributionsHad booked to play number 1&2 but had spare time so played number 3 as well. Was pleasantly surprised. All three courses were brilliant. Club house was amazing and the service and staff were superb. The courses were all true links style and played as such. The greens were very quick! Can't fault the place!Tip: if you're going to eat in the town, try and book first as the restaurants are busy. Good selection of places to eat.Written 15 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Barney70London102 contributionsPlayed 2 rounds of golf here recently with some friends, both courses in amazing condition, relaxed golf in a wonderful setting and beautiful weather, couldn’t ask for more. They have re-modelled some of the course and the views are spectacular.
We had a delicious breakfast before tee off and some soup and sandwiches after golf, great food, super friendly staff in the restaurant, shop and clubhouse.
Very special.Written 6 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mark HSaint Mary in the Marsh, UK229 contributionsScotland has an answer to Pebble Beach, it’s called Dunbar Golf Club and it’s bloody brilliant!
Amazing views, great holes, superb greens even though they’d recently been tined! Favourite hole on the course would have to be 6, it’s fantastic but running it a close second would be the 4th as it reveals the coastline the course sits on!
Food and hospitality is great and Pro Shop friendly. Cannot wait to visit again!Written 1 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Derek LGlasgow, UK2 contributionsCarvery Sunday Good food and friendly staff, worth the visit with excellent views over the sea to craigleith and Bass Rock open to non membersWritten 17 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- adnilyesacKinross, UK231 contributionsBooked into Lodge for a week’s golf break. 2 courses, Craigielaw and Kilspindie on doorstep. Very warm professional and friendly welcome from all staff. Paid little bit extra to have room with a view over course and out to sea. ........worth it. Bedroom most comfortable and spacious and great big walk in shower! One minor thing.....weather has been atrocious and an easy chair to sit by the window ....it’s winter would be a plus point. Food excellent and staff very accommodating Very little golf as worst weather week of year with Storms Ciara and Dennis ........happening!!! Have only managed 2 rounds in 6 days but thoroughly enjoyed the challenges in Gale force winds and company of friendly club members. Would have been 5 stars if weather had not been so extreme. Lots of great courses to play in this part of the world....this is Scotland in winter!!! Highly recommend Craigielaw Lodge as a place to stay and explore the area....golfer or not!!!! Great beaches along the coast here.....Written 14 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Gerry H1 contributionA great course for society outings. We (My brothers, son and a brother-in-law) played our annual Ironmaster competition there yesterday. The weather was atrocious and many other courses in East Lothian were closed.
The owners are very warm, sensible no-nonsense people, who had inspected the course and kept it open with some restrictions (no buggies). While we were waiting we were treated to excellent freshly brewed coffee and bacon rolls (or egg for those who requested it). Lunch, including the golfer’s “salad” (pie, chips and beans)was washed down with excellent ales, after our round.
The course was challenging with some great holes, especially some of the par threes. Fantastic autumnal colours and picturesque views rounded off a great day.
On a personal note, I came last. However that didn’t detract from our “customer delight”. This is where the future of golf lies: well maintained courses, where human resources have been directed to the total golfing experience at a tremendously affordable price. It’s well worth the trip from Edinburgh…Written 29 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - PkochCopenhagen, Denmark1,287 contributionsWe had a lovely round of golf here in a windy day but without any rain.
It is a very nice course and we really enjoyed playing here and will hopefully get back for a second round or more one day.
We can recommend you pay a visit here.
My golf partner played really well and it was a pleasure to watch and although I wished I had played better myself I really enjoyed my round.
We had a very nice lunch after our round and super service.
Thank you, we hope to see you soon again.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - d_jones25Conwy, UK467 contributionsIt isn’t a links & doesn’t pretend to be a links course. Don’t let that put you off. It’s an interesting & high quality course with different feels as you progress through the course.
I think it improves & grows on you.
I loved it.
Staff are very friendly & efficient.Written 6 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Chris F1 contributionJust a quick review to say how easy and straight forward Claire and Joanna have made my booking and upcoming visit. Both incredible polite and helpful. Now looking forward to playing this amazing course next week. - Michael A13 contributionsOur group of 20 golfers had a great day of golf with food and drinks afterwards. Pleasant course for all standards with great ground staff that clearly look after the course and keep it to a high standard.Written 2 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NellikinsEdinburgh45 contributionsAbsolutely FANTASTIC Party night in the very best of company 💕🥂Food was delicious ( wedding standard ) impeccable service , brilliant live band AND disco and reasonably priced drinks. What’s not to like? Very minor gripe ... could’ve cleared the empty glasses from our table more quickly ... certainly didn’t spoil our night. Lovely touch being greeted at the door by a piper who was more than happy to oblige our request for Highland Cathedral. From start to finish a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas night out with family and friendsWritten 1 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ScottishEgyptFanGlasgow, UK114 contributionsWent to Winterfield Golf Club for evening meal, definitely a lovely view over golf club and beach.
Care taken over COVID cleaning, an important part of dinning during pandemic.
The staffs are friendly and attentive.
The really important part is the food. I had the haggis fritter to start which was light and tasty.
Then the sirloin steak cooked perfectly. The prices are excellent is the food well worth the visit.Written 7 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - jqd@1975Leeds, UK170 contributionsI have been visiting Luffness for the last 7 or 8 years. It has from my first visit always been a really special place. Great clubhouse, wonderful food and a top quality golf course. Always a real treat to play here. I will definitely be back to enjoy the privilege of playing this great courseWritten 28 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Julian140Nottingham, UK121 contributionsWas advised before playing that this was just an ok course.. well it was MUCH better than that . A great variety of holes superb views and excellent value for money. It is however a bit of a walk.. so if you are not the fittest toy will need a buggy. would definitely play again.Written 23 September 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
