- -TYAP-Doncaster, UK2 contributionsThis amazing place is magical! Especially with young children. It’s perfect for days out and birthdays and is extremely interactive! I did the behind the scenes experience and it was wonderful you got to hold chameleons and crocodiles and feed the lemurs! There are so many good views of the animals and the staff are very friendly. Walking through the actual butterfly house was tropical and amazing for photos I recommend visiting this amazing place!Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sallie J2 contributionsI can’t rate this highly enough. We came for my 5 year olds birthday as he loves emergency vehicles. He was in his absolute element. He was so excited about all of it.
He particularly enjoyed being able to go inside several of the vehicles. There were lots of opportunities to dress up throughout the museum.
We went on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly suprised to find it not very busy.
The only thing that could maybe be improved is signage to the outside yard. We nearly missed it and ended up telling another group where it was.
We went as a couple of 4 adults, one child and a baby in a pushchair and managed to get around the museum fine. I think we might have to go back without the kids to have a proper read of the information.
My only complaint, which think I know they can’t do anything about, is that it was really quite chilly.Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have visited a few times but noticed on my visit this weekend that the flower/plant beds inside desperately need watering as some of the plants had gone brown and completely died. You could see that nothing had been watered for a long time. Nevertheless less this is a lovely place to visit with family and friends. The gardens outside are kept immaculate and I did see someone working on them during our visit.Written 31 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fred1953Manchester, UK49 contributionsAbsolutely superb museum right in the centre of Sheffield. Lots of exhibits, some inter-active, with a nice lift so disabled friendly. Free admission and parking, although they would appreciate a small donation, but that is optional. The staff were friendly and helpful, I would allow at least 2-3 hours to see all the museum has to offer. There is a lovely cafe on site called Joni's, again the staff were first class.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cmullen489 contributionsAllways wanted to go to this theatre and wasn't disappointed. The show White Christmas was one of the best things we have seen in over 50 years of theatregoing. All seats have a briiliant view and the coloured door system is excellent. They could have a look at the interval drinks system because that was chaos. But this did not take away from the experience, all round terrific. WE WILL BE BACK.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aaron F2 contributionsGreat place to sit and relax on a cold day. Always good to take a group and have a packed lunch. Can get busy between 12 to 2 though.Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Robin FSouth Yorkshire, UK16 contributionsMy wife and I have been to Sunday lunch a few times and the service and waiting staff were very good. Today 03/03 we were in the restaurant and there was a medical emergency which resulted in us all being evacuated to the other room to allow the person to get treatment.
I must say that the manager was cool and calm asking people to leave and on our return the waiting staff were brilliant after the shock of earlier they tried hard to catch up.
Well done to you all as you were all very professional and you all done well thanks.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom BChesterfield, UK594 contributionsOver 200 hundred acres of variety. Great walks with hard surface paths. There are lakes and streams.
Farm and a cafe. Good parking.
Had a great couple of hours here.
The cafe is only doing take away pending refurbishment.Written 12 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Sue WIlkeston, UK1,012 contributionsThis was a car journey for us but we'll worth the drive. This beautiful valley has many waterfalls, bridges and even stepping stones. The path threads it's way along following the river through the trees, mill stones and bridges. There are a couple of places where you cross a road but that would depend upon how far you walk.
The small car park was full so we, along with many others, parked on the roadside. At the lower end of the trail there is a cafe, toilets and a children's play area.
The walk is largely level and accessible although a pram or wheelchair wouldn't be practical.Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were shown around by owners John and his lovely wife Cynthia.
Their passion for the gin they were producing was infectious, a truly great tour around the buildings in which the process is made I found very interesting. We tasted various gins and learnt about the botanicals used.
We treated ourselves to some gin to take home too.
I would highly recommend this tour, wrap up well as it can be cold.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
