Dinner, last night in Cabo. We'd been here before.
Years ago I asked a US expat where all the US expats go to be among others. She said The Roadhouse. At the time, ten years ago, you had to know where to find it to find in. Just get on the Transpeninsular Highway frontage road going West. Pass COSTCO, pass the power station, and immediately turn right onto a unnamed semi dirt road. It will show up 1/2 way up the hill. There was no sign at the turn, there is now. Just the name and an arrow. You have to know what business they are in.
It's pure American (Caution: a bit racist, leans to the "right"). The initial attraction for the US expats was burgers, fries, US sports, beer, and a full bar.
Food is great. I had the catch of the day "pez del day" A huge serving of Sea Bass grilled perfect, baked potato, salad. $250 MX, $12.50 USD.
Everyone in my family including an 18 y/o and 8 y/o said it great too.
Others were just sitting alone at the bar looking at the ocean.
Place is full of signs, US state license plates, and fishing stuff.
I believe the founder, owner, Big Mike, passed a few months ago. There is much inside about his life. His quote "NO BAD DAYS" is everywhere.
Also got a T-shirt.
