Review of Diamond Bright catamaran cruises: Would not recommend. We were 5 adults and purchased tix through tripadvisor at $80/person including transportation from/to hotel. Upon arrival at pier we had to pay an add’l $15/person for “other fees/taxes” our receipt from trip advisor said that we had paid in full. We felt deceived, but did pay because we were looking forward to the day. For travelers who only care about the alcohol and getting wasted, this would be a great cruise for them liquor started flowing almost immediately after the anchor was pulled up. A while later we donned snorkel gear and went into the water. The water was rough but the crew did their best to keep us together. We only had about 20min to snorkel, which wasn’t enough time. The next disappointment was the lunch buffet which was horrendous. The buffet lacked vegetables. Lunch consisted of fake mashed potatoes, white rice, plain spaghetti, tortilla chips, romaine lettuce. Totally non-appetizing. The ice cream was not included in the buffet price! Lunch was a waste of time. I would have rather had p,b, and j sandwiches on board and spent more time snorkeling! The next disappointment was disembarking on Isla Mujeres whose beach was tiny and crowded. From what we could see, the island was void of beauty, we have been told that the north side of Isla Mujeres is much nicer. Additionally, parasailing was cancelled due to high winds. On a positive note, the crew were very pleasant and hospitable.
