What travellers are saying
- Yeong-Ho Y2 contributionsAs a top thing to do while in Osaka, I had to come here. The picture with the running man is also a must. Not a super clean part of Japan, but the food is outstanding.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bernard WDallas, TX1,946 contributionsThough not especially attractive, this bridge sits amidst “the happening” atmosphere of the locality with views complete with neon lights, people watching, varied food choices.Written 5 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Soko37Budapest, Hungary14,516 contributionsFirst time, I review billboard. Famous big picture originating back hundred years, part of Dotombori district. It joins Ebisu bridge and shopping streets as main attractions . You will probably not miss it when visiting DotomboriWritten 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia29,750 contributionsThe Tombori River, more a canal between buildings is more sedate than the main area one block over that is generally called Dotonbori with its many restaurants and crazy signs and loads of people walking what is a fun but "whacky" place. Here you will see the rear entrance to many of the restaurants but interesting none the less.Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macaiwarKuala Lumpur, Malaysia233 contributionsCheck this place out to enjoy craft beer and snacks for a momentary chill out from all the walking in Shinsaibashi and Dotonburi.
Lovely place to hangout.Written 16 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stretching for miles, the area is teeming with stores, full-service restaurants, and eateries offering quick bites.
As you stroll along the picturesque riverfront, boats sail back and forth, providing passengers with a unique perspective of Osaka from the water. While it's easy to spend half a day exploring Dontonbori, I highly recommend returning at night when the area truly comes alive with a vibrant, electric atmosphere that exudes a completely different vibe.
Among the countless shops and eateries, be sure to check out Kani Doraku for it's crab dishes, the 10 Yen Bread (with choice of cheese or custard), and Mooken for puff pastries! They were a standout during my visit!

The street is very quaint and great for photos at night.Written 16 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Kudos to the five actors and also to their kind manager who went out of his way to walk us to the don quijote shop for our cruise. Your hospitality is greatly appreciated, sir! We'll come back with more friends!Written 28 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The takoyaki is delicious and the sauce is good too.Written 16 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Austin HLondon, UK6 contributionsMy wife and I randomly ran into the owner of this lovely museum in a small bar in Dotonbori. He was drinking with a friend who was also involved in Noh theatre. We got to chatting (he spoke some English but Google translate is also a magical app), and he asked why we were visiting Japan. We told him that it was for our honeymoon, and both he and his friend were delighted for us. He told us about the museum, and we promised we would stop by the next day. When we did, we found that he had left a small bouquet of flowers for us to celebrate our marriage! Truly a wonderful guy.
The museum itself is great and well-worth a visit. We opted for the mid-range ticket option, where an attendant in traditional theatre clothing walks you through a really interesting video in English about the history of noh and kabuki in the region. You can get up on the small stage as it rotates around, and take pictures in cardboard cutouts so it looks like you're in a play. All in all a fantastic experience, highly recommended!Written 5 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Raintree_ThailandBangkok, Thailand4,462 contributionsIt's a bridge. You use it to cross from one side of the river to the other. It's nothing more, although you can take some nice photos of the cruise boats and neon signs from the bridge.Written 14 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
