Lovely walk up to Ingelborough Caves along the nature trail that takes you about 30 minutes to get to the cave. The cave was excellent and our guide John was extremely knowledgeable and a great host.
What a fantastic day out.We parked on the car park in the village which is an absolute delight, then followed the woodland walk and nature trail to the caves the walk to the caves is about a mile and a half but th...

Great spot to picnic and enjoy nature in the raw
We got to Clapham just after 7.00 am and although there is some free parking by the side of the road we parked in the Dales National Park car park at the top of the village where full day parking costs £4.50.

Some things to be aware of on that one are: - you can park in Clapham fairly easily, either on the village road for free if you're early, or in a large national park authority pay and display car park, which also...

Pen-y-ghent Horton-in-Ribblesdale, UK 10.0 km away
#2 of 3 Nature & Parks in Horton-in-Ribblesdale
It is a lovely peak with plenty of up, some gentle scrambling (over in 5 mins) and the excellent work of the National Parks have made most of the route easily accessible.
Quite steep towards the top so you need to be careful with your footing but in general a great place to start your 3 peaks challenge, the car park at the Golden Lion is a great meeting spot for this trek.
Stainforth Force Settle 7.7 km away
#2 of 3 Nature & Parks in Settle
We parked at the car park and had a gentle stroll to the falls, they were pretty spectacular due to a weekend of heavy rain.
Even without seeing the salmon it is still well worth the trip, park in the car park just off the main road rather than drive down to the Force as the road is very narrow and steep and very few places to park let...

If you would like it a little quieter, then avoid weekends in the summer, when the town, route, and car parks are jammed with walkers.....
Two stops to get more water/snacks - 1) Ribblehead Viaduct has a snack van in car park 2) Philpott Farm (between 2 & 3rd peak) has a farm shop.
