    The nineteenth-century Palazzo Sinesi is the depository for findings from the urban area and surrounding territory, a cross-section of the Canosa society between the Archaic and Hellenistic periods, the most important ones in the millennial history of the city.
    The archaeological exhibition, dedicated to grave goods from archaic tombs and rich hellenistic hypogea, shows visitors customes and attitudes of Canosa society and also the high quality of the local handicraft.
    Not far from the area of Canne della Battaglia, the Museum guards a great variety of Apulian-red figured vases characterized by monumental dimensions and rich decorations, elaborately sculptured polychrome Daunian askos, long anatomical cuirasses. The cultural heritage housed in Canosa archaeological museum is priceless, don't miss it!

    A really nice archeological religious site; many ruins but an interesting imposing stone head enthroned out, very impressive; perhaps it's a burial site;
    around a nice view to olive trees.

    I came to the town by pure chance initially, and was surprised by how many great places are there in Canosa, but this museum was one of the most exciting places there; it really made me say "wow!"when I entered it.
    Here, history of Canosa is presented to visitors - from archaeological findings to rich interiors of 19th century, and there are usually various temporary exhibits held, and all other historical and cultural activities dedicated to the lands around.
    So, visit this museum if you are nearby and it will be a great experience! Canosa itself worth visiting because of such a great landmarks!

    We only found this via following a tourism guides car.When we got there we were given a map of Canosa showing all the sites and recommended to visit the museum.The contents can be found in the museum,but these structures showed how important the people were at this time to be buried in the sub terranian locations.Worth a quick visit.The bonuses were helpful people,map of Canosa,and free clean toilets,all free.

    We had the accomodation some 40 km away, near Castel del Monte. We made the tour and it worth the effort. One of the places were we sensed the sea of history staying still. But only for those who want that touch.

    Located in a garden centre on the outskirts of town.Unfortunately closed when we went,but you could see its beauty through the gates.Would have liked to have visited it properly.
