What travellers are saying
- Betty E16 contributionsI lived on Okinawa from 1973-1976. It was a sobering visit to Manzamo, especially to see the caves with remnants of people who had committed suicide, cigarette packs, knives, weapons, personal items and even skulls and bones. I was told by a local that the Japanese officials had told the Okinawans that the allies were horrible monsters with huge teeth and they would eat their children. Sadly, many believed it and threw themselves off the cliff to escape. When others, who had not been able to reach the cliffs to escape, saw that the allies were not monsters, and received help from them, they were angered and, at that point, hated the Japanese for having lied to them. I am sure that the Japanese Army also made people commit suicide there for either non-support, or just to get rid of them. Whatever the reason, it happened, and places like these should make us think about the horrors of war anywhere and abhor it. Yet...it continues. There is only One, though, who can bring am end to war throughout the earth. - The-FariasRamstein-Miesenbach, Germany1,054 contributionsAwesome place to come visit for snorkeling and or diving. Unseated is neat and you can really take in the beauty. There is also some cool tunnels to get into the cave. Watch out for all the tourists they have no situational awareness.

We stopped at a supermarket near by and got some delicious rice bowls and drinks for lunch. Cape Maeda apparently is always full on weekends. It was so that day but it was so worth it. We saw a lot of people snorkeling and there were a lot of divers too. Even some boats. First we checked out the west side after walking down those terrible stairs in gear. We’re only allowed to dive 69ft/18meter and we had to be careful not to go deeper, because you could. The second dive we headed north of the steps and found two caves, one on land (it was low tide) the one you had to swim inside. It was really cool. I recommend anyone, be it diver, swimmer, snorkler to go and check it out.Written 20 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Philippe3 contributionsSuperb reef - great for night diving - Quiet and usually not as crowded as Manza. Lots of underwater life, turtles, nudibranch and variety of fish. Recommended if you are AOW or above.Written 10 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BUGI_70Florence, Italy2,430 contributionsAmazing beach. Close to Manza beach. We parked at Manza beach parking which costs 1000¥. No restaurants or bars but there are some vending machines for drinks and ice creams. Water sports at the marina. Toilets, changing rooms and showers for free. You can also rent sun beds.Written 28 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DDD999Hong Kong1,215 contributionsPart of the ANA Intercontinental Resort, this ocean park has floaties of 3 different levels for children of different ages.
Two things worth mentioning - the sand and pebbles are quite rough in certain areas, and there is a entrance fee for everyone playing the facilities.Written 6 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Dinner was very disappointing, especially for the price, and then they added a 12% service charge on top of the already high price. Would I stay there again? Probably. Would I eat there again? Not a chance.Written 14 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Igor KSt. Petersburg, Russia109 contributionsVery nice, but sea is not deep which makes almost impossible to swim in low tide. But very quite and calm. - KGB777Singapore, Singapore41,257 contributionsThe water here was just so clear that I had to go for a swim, despite it being pretty cold in early May in the water. Not much in the way of facilities but you can combine a visit here with the cake shop and make use of the parking facilities. I was amazed by just how clear the water was.Written 2 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nick C2 contributionsDived Manza Dream Hole with George form Sunkissed Divers Okinawa. An interesting 25 metre free-fall into a pitch-black hole which leads into a small cave system. - Bridget GDubai, United Arab Emirates16 contributionsNot sure how others found "raked, white sand beaches". This was not it. Picked up tons of debris from the beach and impossible to walk on beach without shoes due to amount of coral. Didn't look at all maintained. But if you want natural beach plus human detritus, this is the one for you.Written 30 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
