A steep staircase takes you up to lovely views of the lake at the top of the castle The doll/toy museum is amazing to visit-one of the largest in Europe!
We ended up staying more than 3 hours there, admiring the amazing view, the incredible gardens, and the cute café with the great terasse overlooking at the lake..

Santa Maria is in the most wonderful location, you walk up the hill and stop for a breath, turn around and the view takes your breath away and then take the little road to the right and continue up to Sacre Monte....
Access from the town square is by steep steps I found these easy to climb the secret is to stop halfway and look back at the stunning views of the lake .
