Driest powder and fresh runs most of the days. Only down side to Niseko is there is not a lot to do when you aren’t skiing.

Yotei in the background. May is the best time to go to see everything in full bloom. The flowers start to fade in color by June. - Adrian TMarlow, UK279 contributionsThe Hanazono ski area is by a mile my favourite place in Niseko - the 308 plaza is the best "hub" of the resort with a restaurant, shop and ski school. There are many fun activities as well for kids or adults in the area.
The runs are not too hard and are enjoyable to ski down. Our tour guide was INCREDIBLY patient with us through the trip, stopping to take numerous photos and let us “do our own thing.” They even gave us some free time to play in a giant field and really see what the snowmobiles could do! First time we stayed at Niseko One Towers, she came over in her van, brought the skis, boots poles and went over to Hirafu side to ski. On our last day, she collected the skis back for us so we did not have to make an extra trip.
For 2016-2017 season, she came over to Hirafu side to teach. Precise clear instructions, able to guide and find out what was wrong and correct it. NOASC offers pretty reasonable prices for ski lessons.

Jan was an amazing instructor and when I picked up my boys, they were so happy to share all the cool things that Jan taught them. I liked how Jan provided a debrief after the lessons as well, sharing what the boys should continue to work on. I saw improvement in my boys and this was way better than me trying to teach my kids 😆. We loved our time in Niseko, and would happily recommend NBS and especially Andy, Gloria, Dan, Guy and the rest of the in-house team. After renting at several resorts, we appreciate the superior gear and friendly advice on offer at Rhythm, and the coffee and hot chocolate stop has also become a welcome family ritual. My son moved from skiing to snowboarding this year and Rhythm made that a smooth transition as well. We just had a great spring week in Hakuba (last year it was Niseko) and we couldn’t do it without Rhythm. He can customize the trail based on your group’s fitness and ability level. - Ben1 contributionWe were really impressed with the team at Hokkaido Ski Club. Our son’s first time on skis was a great experience for him and he was bombing down runs confidently after only a few lessons. Adir and Atsushi-san really excel when it comes to teaching young kids and making the experience fun. - Laurence S7 contributionsI was lucky to have Tom as my guide and fellow photographer for this half day visit. Actually he was my teacher and from him I gained lots of useful tips. His expertise of the area was great so we could visit some beautiful locations by van. No skiing was required today so people with no skiing skills, like me, could still enjoy the snow access this fantastic day. I liked the casual and easy going way the guide had and nothing was a problem, borrowing a lens, stopping for snack, it was all up to me. You will need some good shoes and a coat and of course your camera, but otherwise if you need snow shoes, a lens or a tripod, it will there for you to use. It would have been nice to have a bit more time but the train journey and timetables for the trip back to Sapporo meant the time went too fast!
