We have used Niseko Black for a few years now and we cannot imagine any other way of holidaying in Niseko. This past season, we did some revenge skiing and went to Niseko a few times. Chris and Ben and the team took care of our hotel booking, airport transfer, gear rental, restaurant bookings and ski lessons. The kids (8 and 9) are completely taken care of. Even when they were 5 and 6, we left the kids with the Niseko Black instructors and they had a blast. The instructors are experienced and so good with the children (and adults too!) Chris and Ben work really hard at pairing you up with the best instructor for your needs. It’s been such a joy this season. It’s worth the premium. If you want a stress free ski holiday, this is the way to do it.

Typical day this past season with the concierge and ski school: we meet our NB instructors at the hotel lobby (in Hirafu); the instructors go to our ski locker and load the car with all our gear. They come back to the lobby and help the children get their gear on (boots, balaclava, helmet, gloves, goggles). We drive to Annupuri or Hanazono or wherever we decided we were skiing that day (the kids prefer skiing In Annupuri). Instructors unload the gear and park the car. We give the instructors some cash to buy hot chocolates and refreshments whenever the kids want a break. We part ways for the morning (I have my own NB instructor). We all meet for lunch. We all hit the slopes again for a few afternoon runs. At the end of the day, we drive back to our hotel. The instructors put the gear back in the lockers. We head straight back up to our room. Onsen/bath/chill time until NB come back to pick us up and take us to our dinner reservation. After dinner, NB will send us back to our hotel.

Put that on repeat and it’s actually a really relaxing holiday!

07 January 2023: The funniest and most memorable snowshoes I have done! The guide and his lovely photograph were so nice! We walked to the Hangetsu lake. Beautiful view, fun games along the way! Beautiful pictures of this day were share later! Really recommend it! Thank you again for the day!

We went there during summer time and participated 4 programs. The programs were rafting, night trekking, river kayaking and adventure park. The tutors were super friendly and professional. However, one of the frontline staff was impatient and not willing to answer my questions. The training of frontline is necessary. Except that staff, everything is really good!

I was lucky to have Tom as my guide and fellow photographer for this half day visit. Actually he was my teacher and from him I gained lots of useful tips. His expertise of the area was great so we could visit some beautiful locations by van. No skiing was required today so people with no skiing skills, like me, could still enjoy the snow access this fantastic day. I liked the casual and easy going way the guide had and nothing was a problem, borrowing a lens, stopping for snack, it was all up to me. You will need some good shoes and a coat and of course your camera, but otherwise if you need snow shoes, a lens or a tripod, it will there for you to use. It would have been nice to have a bit more time but the train journey and timetables for the trip back to Sapporo meant the time went too fast! Overall I highly recommend this experience if you like snow and photography.

They delivered to the accommodation one day in advance so everything was settled in the morning and prepared for a perfect start!
With a company of 4 adults and 4 children there were a lot of changes needed to be done both boots and skis! Every time they arrived within 20 minutes after the phone call and were extremely polite and service minded! Couldn’t ask for more!

My husband and I can’t say enough good things about the Powder Triangle Tour that we just completed with HME. We were thrilled with the skiing which couldn’t be better than in central Hokkaido. Even with the “worst snow in 40 years”, our guides found us plenty of powder. They monitored the weather daily, sometimes making the call of where to go, just before we left. All five of the people in our group felt that our skiing had improved over the 7 days of skiing, due to the insightful instruction we were given. Our guides also went out of their way to take us a local onsen in the mountains, a local festival, and other off-slope activities. With two guides, the three more advanced skiers could do more off-piste powder, while the two of us with less experience learned to ski powder in the side country. We came back so excited that we can’t wait to book another tour next year.

If you are staying in Hirafu village then spending a day at Hanazono makes a nice change. There is a free shuttle service from the main bus stop in front of Seicomart. I personally would not stay in Hanazono as it is a bit isolated and you can cover just about all the activities there in one day.

If you need to take a break from skiing then you have the option of taking a snowmobile out through the forest or sledding. For us, the must do activity is the crab ramen in the restaurant! It's more of a food court concept with many choices of cuisines and one central cashier so there is likely to be something for everyone. You can simply spend time in the restaurant area to chill while your kids play outside in the park as the place is quite self-contained.

Since we had an all-mountain pass, we had brought our skiis to try out the slopes there. My advice for novices like us is to have an instructor take you to a new place for the first run. It can be quite daunting not knowing which way to turn in fear of accidently heading down a black run!

We used this company for our Transfer to the airport from Kutchan Town to Sapporo and it was excellent. Driver 5 minutes early, dressed with tie and jacket, helped with luggage, very professional. Car was clean, smelt great, and plenty of room for our luggage. He drove really well, safely and we felt comfortable and reassured at all times. He knew exactly where he was going and wee had a most pleasant journey to end our wonderful holiday. Would only go this way again.
