We took an optional tour with Viking Cruise and it was quite disappointing. The tour guide at the monastery was very very nice, knowledgeable but had a heavy English accent that we had a hard time understanding her. It was a bit disorganized as she...More

Enjoy the silence at Kloster Eberbach, nice museum store, great atmosphere (not only due to the fact that The Name of the Rose was produced here), gorgeous park and cool hotel. The acoustics in the church is challenging!

We had a guided tour there during which the history of the place itself and the history of winemaking were explained to us in such a fascinating way that next time we might overnight there. Great wine tasting too.

This is a really interesting place to visit with or without wine tasting. There has been something going on here for best part of 900 years so for that much history the recommendation is to book a guide (most of the major European languages can...More

We came here primarily to buy wine; the monastery is a big producer in the Rheingau. The shop has wines from all of the estates and offers tastings too. The monastery buildings are well-worth a visit, especially if you have seen the film of Umberto...More

In spite of record heat the restaurant and patios were filled. Still, the service was superb, and the view stunning. Even better, the Kase Knodel and Pfiferling Suppe was absolutely delicious.
