There's also more murals going down Enmore Rd. on the side streets. To the right there are is also a legal graffiti wall that's on the back of a beer brewery. That's constantly updated. But keep walking up those back streets and a few hidden gems along there.

Predominantly in the side streets running off King Street, there are many walls with various street art designs. The most well known of these is the ‘I have a dream’ mural, which is on King Street itself. All of these murals are accessible by foot, just walking along King Street. Car parking is a premium in this area so if this is your thing, I would suggest getting a train to either St Peters or Newtown stations.

Walking the suggested route we saw lots of interesting murals (including several not listed on the tour) as well as street art of varying quality (some of it quite good). We almost quit the walking tour after the first 2 murals but were glad we did not. It turns out that the first 2 may be the least interesting of the bunch. In addition one of the murals seems to have been replaced with another (or we failed to locate it). All things considered it was a very pleasant 90 minutes. Plus there are many cafes to grab a coffee and a snack if so desired.

During our stay in Newtown, we basically stumbled on most of the murals, there are quite a few on king street, however if you want to investigate further there are many blogs to assist in finding all the murals, for us the murals just add to the gritty ness and vibe to this amazing eclectic area.

Incredibly disappointing trip to Newtown. I didn't find anything online that prepared me for the very faded, old, worn out, hard-to-find artwork in Newtown. There is no guide to go from place to place and I found out that many of the murals pictured in the reviews have been painted over or replaced. If you are thinking you can just go wander the streets of Newtown and find the pictures that you can see online, you will be very disappointed as I was. I HAVE A DREAM is old and cracking .....and asking lots of the locals where I could see more paintings, was a joke. Nobody knew where the murals were....until I got to IGA and a shop assistant directed me out to the car park. There were so many cars parked in front of it that it would be impossible to take a decent picture of the mural and I just gave up on finding the others. It was one of the most disappointing things I've ever done on any tourist trip. Don't bother looking for the beautiful murals that are shown on line. They don't exist anymore.

I'm a sucker for street art, you never know what's around the next corner which I find really exciting. The art is incredible in Newtown, people are so talented! Really loved it.

Walking across this street will reveal how vibrant Newtown community is. All ages, all orientations, queers, straights and many more.
Old buildings, graphics on walls, plenty number of shops and restu play a role in enriching the experience. If you are around, it's a must-visit destination.

Great spot for Op shops and street art. We only had a couple of hours and I wish we had more time. There was a non dairy gelato shop that sold the best coconut and almond ice cream I have ever had .

I only had an hour to walk around the area, but there was a lot of street art worth shooting, and lots of quirky stores and many good looking restaurants, as well as the inevitable multiplicity of coffee shops. Well worth a longer wander....
