Amazing experience
Jun 2021 • Couples
This is a amazing historical and spiritual temple. The architecture is breathtaking and it’s an area with several temples paying homage to different Hindu Gods. Easy to get to and they follow strict health protocols.
There’s a little animal zoo area and plenty of scenic areas on the way out.
It’s a huge area so comfortable shoes recommended:-)

Full day private tour exploring the history of Prambanan temple
Mar 2021 • Friends
On the 14th day of my tour around Java with the Java Private Tour, I got the first time to visit this UNESCO world heritage historical site, this place is one of the wishlist that I submitted to the Java Private Tour to visit in this series of tours around my Java in 2021.

I admit that this ancient Javanese temple is indeed very magnificent, when compared to other temples in Southeast Asia, during the two hours I was in this place it felt like the time was not enough, because this place is very spacious. The place is very well maintained, and clean. In addition, the guide from the temple management is very clear in terms of telling the history of the temple and can take me back to the past, to the historical period when this temple was first built to its current condition. Thank you Indonesia, there are many things I can learn from this beautiful country, thank you tripadvisor for recommending the Java Private Tour, and thank you Java Private Tour for making my travel plans that I have compiled over the past year become real and realized.

Good to visit
Mar 2020
Me and my family went there in the evening. It was really a good experience! The weather was fine when we get there and the scenery was so beautiful.
Prambanan temple is best suited to visit around sunset. The ticket is pretty expensive but it's worth it. This temple have a very interesting story and the temples are stunning eventhough some of them are destroyed.
The temple is very popular with locals and tourists, so it's very crowded but I enjoy it.

Largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia
Nov 2019
With the limited time we had in Jogja, my brother and I wanted to see as much as we could, and Prambanan Hindu Temple was on our list.

This 9th century temple, is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia and the second-largest in Southeast Asia. In contrast to the Buddhist temple we visited earlier in the day, this Hindu Temple consisted of a central building inside a large complex of individual temples (each dedicated to one of the multiple deities of the Hindu faith), opposed to a single large temple, which made navigating the site much easier. There was also a lot less stairs that needed to be climbed, however those that were present were quite steep.

An interesting fact is that temple was significantly damaged during an earthquake in 2006 and is still in the process of being repaired, with a fallen peak of the North Apit Temple, left as a monument of the devastation.

I must note, that as we were leaving, it became evident that there were animals in captivity at the site. While this did not completely ruin the experience, it did not sit well with us.

Prepare your foot!
Nov 2019
This was the first temple i visited as soon as I arrived in Yogyakarta. Big journey before this, and continue to this temple. This temple is MAJESTIC. Close to the highway, easily accessed, and decent admission price ticket. 100,000 rupiahs if I'm not mistaken. Prepare your foot since it would be a long walk. There were also some car-train ride to go around the temple, but I recommend to walk around as you'll find some animals!

Historical Hindu Temple
Jun 2019
If you are a tourist here, you will need a guide to guide you along. The carvings here at the temple have its meanings and storyline. The visit was incredible for me even without a guide. We never knew a guide was so important until we got inside and start roaming the area. The overall view is very nice and the temple is very well-maintained
