- Jerusalem12347 contributionsAmazing Beach massage and beach experienceStunning Beach, so clean, so pretty, so safe and everything you need there, as beautiful as the Caribbean seriously and I have also been there!! Secondly I really needed a massage due to achy back/ neck.. I was a bit dubious how it would be with someone on the beach doing it.. it was Fantastic!! I would recommend Chen, possibly spelt Cheun, pronounced Tung!! He was so good, considerate, expert with my chosen pressure and I feel lot better for it. Also much cheaper than the hotels, next year again see you Chen!!!! Afacristo!!! ❤️Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 June 2023
- Mary PBoston, Massachusetts18 contributionsAgios ProkopiosMy mother , daughter and I spent 4 glorious nights in Naxos . We stayed at Liana Beach hotel and spa located directly across from the beach. Agios Prokopios beach is one of my favorites, plenty of great restaurants and bars.. beautiful clear waters and soft sands.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 July 2023
- theChi005Boulder, Colorado2 contributionsBest beach on the island!Okay, so we didn't go to any other beach, but this was really nice! We got 2 loungers with a lock box at the Golden Beach cafe for 15euros and had wonderful service and food there. The sand at this beach is clean and nice - not soft, but good still good sand.Visited July 2023Written 1 August 2023
- Nick P66 contributionsMost commercial of the beaches closest to Naxos ChoraIt depends on what you're looking for. Of the beaches we visited this was the most commercial - mainly sun loungers and not a lot vacant spaces if you just want to put a towel on the sand. Loungers were 25 euros plus, for two and an umbrella; maybe more in peak months when beach would be very crowded. Beach front restaurants had a preponderance of italian- based menus but we found a good restaurant towards the end of the line, that served good Greek food. The beach is mainly sandy with fairly steep shelving into the water although quite safe. There is a lifeguard on duty. There are shops and restaurants away from the sea front. Regular bus service to/from Naxos Chora but this is the last stop on the return journey to Chora so the bus may be very full or bypass this stop altogether!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 September 2023
- Dbug62Bayport, New York124 contributionsNice sheltered stretch of beachIt was a pretty windy day, so our hotel suggested we NOT go to Plaka Beach, which was original plan. They suggested this beach and it was perfect for what we wanted to do. We got here before 10 am and essentially had an unlimited selection of loungers. We chose a spot that was 10 Euros for two beds and umbrella and was able to get the front row. What was also good here was that you could also just put a blanket out in front of the loungers which a lot of the locals were doing. It’s a public beach so be prepared for the people selling massages and jewelry but this was not a problem. We had lunch at one of the many restaurants and we took a long walk down the road past another nice beach called Agia Anna Beach which looked very nice also.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 October 2023

Excellent beach. Easy to get to, plenty of seating options (two chairs with umbrella for EUR 10) and lots of food/drink options. Crystal clear water!

Among below beaches, this was the best of them
Agia Anna: too crowded
Hawaii beach: the sea is not that good
Mikri Vigla: average
Baia Paradiso: this was good but there is no wc or anything, only sunbeds
Plaka: average
Agios Georgios: the sea was good. Better for children since you walk in the sea but the sea level is still in your belly
Therefore Prokopios was the one we chose to spend the day.

This is a great beach. Plenty of sand and no rocks. Maybe a bit windy. It can get quite busy too but it isn’t much of a walk to find space.

What an gem in the Cyclades. I have been to many beaches and this one is by far one of my favorites. Crystal blue waters with white sand. You really can’t beat it.

The best beach at the island some years ago… Now it’s crowded, full of umbrellas and a little dirty. If this is your only option I guess it’s ok. If you have transport then I would suggest to go to other beaches.

best beach in Greece. The only complaint I have is that the people that do wear a swimsuit are trying to mess with the naked ones..you have a ton of beaches to go to, we don't, so please take the umbrellas and piss off to the beginning of the beach or the end and leave the middle for the naked people that are working on their tans. Thank you

Is there a nude section here on this beach
Natalia A
3 contributions
No!! This id a beach 90% covered by (pricey) sunbeds and umbrellas, and the small space left uncovered is taken over by families and elderly people, mostly.
However, up until a few years ago there used to be a nudist section at Plaka Beach, pretty close to Agios Prokopios. But I haven't been there this year, so I can't guarantee things have not changed.

Chus

Is Agios Prokopios beach too close to the airport? Do you hear airplane noise? Thank you in advance!

No. It is 3-4 miles. It is a very small airport with a short runway which takes planes carrying up to about 50 passengers. There are not many flights per day.

I am traveling to Naxos with my family in early July of 2020. We are leaning toward staying in Agios Prokopios because we want to be close to a beautiful beach by day and we will take the bus in the evening into Naxos Town for dinner and activity. I have read a few reviews that there is a bad smell at this beach and that the water is freezing cold. Is this smell common at this beach and is it at a certain end of the beach? We are leaning toward Liana Hotel which is at the end closest to Agia Anna Beach. I am also considering Ariadne Hotel. Also, is the water always cold in the summer here? Are Agia Anna and Plaka Beach warmer? I have a 13 year old and thought this beach area would offer more activity which she would like as opposed to a more secluded beach. I ruled out St. George Beach because although convenient to town, I think that I would find it too busy and crowded and the sand and water doesn't seem quite as pretty as Agios Prokopios. Thank you in advance for your insights.

I also recommend Perla it's 50 mtr from super market and close to the beach, 5 minutes by walk. Has a wonderful pool ask them to give you a room with view to the sea. Also you can prepare your meal in the room. Outside the reception is a bus stop you can take easily the bus and go to Agia Anna or Plaka or Chora. If you ask me Agios Prokopis has the best beach in the island with lifequard umbrellas and sea beds

If my wife and I rent a pair of sunbedss and wanted to take a watch down the beach or go swimming what do we do with our money/credit card/identification?

We didn't notice any lockers or safe place to keep our belongings at the beach itself. I would leave anything of value, aside from a bit of cash, in the hotel safe.

What’s better /less Rocky Plaka or Agios Prokopis?

Pretty much the same.
I would prefer plaka if I were to go snorkeling.
Agios Prokopios is more hard to find a parking place.
Nevertheless... they are pretty much alike
