Home of the Lusaka coffee

Interesting to see how the production process of the world famous Luwak coffee is done. In this facility you can experience the process from start (the Civet Cat) to finish and taste the coffee (at RP25000, about $2) per cup.

Abusive Treatment of Civets
Aug 2018 • Couples
I was very curious about Luwak coffee, so I entered with the intention of buying and enjoying this rare coffee, but what I saw shocked me. Civic cats looked as if they were bored out of their minds. They had barely any room to exercise. They looked unhealthy. They were deprived of physical and mental stimulation. Most likely they were caught in the nearby forests and ripped away from their mates and families. I went there with an open mind, but I left depressed and disgusted by how some people willingly abuse animals for profit and how some people ignore suffering. And all of this is for a cup of coffee. Sick! Do not just take my word for this. Before paying for civet coffee, do some research.

An educational experience about coffee processing by cats
Oct 2018 • Friends
Our small tour group stopped at Pawon Luwak on our way to Borobudur. I am almost addicted to coffee, but was totally unaware of this special coffee processed by cats. The civet cats eat the coffee beans and their digestive system removes the husks and they poop out the kernels. The kernels are dried, cleaned, and ground into "Java". If one doesn't think about the poop business, the coffee is good. However, I'm sticking to the coffee picked by Juan Valdez in South America!

Homemade Luwak Coffee, International Taste
Aug 2018 • Business
We all knew that Luwak Coffee is wellknown in the world as most expensive coffee. Even in Italy they sell this coffee for €50 per cups (expresso cup). But here you can get lot lot cheaper for a single cup. Here we can also see how to make Luwak Coffee and see the Luwak itself here. If you are a coffee addict you can make this place as a place you have to go while you have a trip around Jogjakarta.

Coffee Produced by Civet Cats
Jul 2018 • Friends
This touristy place is close to Borobudur and seems to do good business.
Charming girls will show you the Civet cat droppings in various stages, tell you about the process and show you the resident Civet cats.
You can then sit in the shady gardens and have Civet or non-Civet coffee. You can learn a lot about coffee here.
You can also by Kuwak or Civet Cat Coffee as beans, roasted beans or as ground coffee. A quick check on the internet showed that it was much, much more expensive to buy it in Europe so most of us bought some.
They accept credit cards.
All in all a nice and educational experience.

Great Coffee Experience with Civets!
Jul 2018 • Friends
I confess that stopping here was a complete surprise-- our driver brought me here after mentioning "luwak coffee" a couple of times and asking us if we had heard of it. Once we arrived I recognized the lovely little creatures as civets-- and I understood that I was about to taste some unique coffee.

The shop employees are friendly and efficient. You get to see some of the civets in their enclosures in the garden-- they are furry little fruit eaters, but they are nocturnal so you are likely to see them napping.

It was great fun savoring a glorious cup of "civet coffee" while watching television clips of Americans and Europeans tasting the same. It's outrageously expensive, of course, but you'll never find it cheaper than here in Indonesia. Even if you don't opt for a hundred grams of beans (30USD!), if you like coffee at all plan to treat yourself to a two dollar cup just to be able to tell your friends back home that you drank the most exotic coffee in the world.
