Ancient chapel on a rock
Mar 2018 • Solo
The chapel is on top of a rock across from the Roman Bridge. According to the information panel it was once joined with the bridge but that is no longer the case as it’s isolated away on its own. There are steps on the harbour side leading up to the entrance which was locked when I visited and there were a few “weed fiends” sitting on the top steps making a noise. There’s a balcony area half way up from where you get a good view across the harbour area towards the town and promenade. I continued on along the breakwater and looking back you can see a wooden roof structure on top.

Perfect view over the city
Jul 2016 • Couples
I love that little structure on the rock! It used to be a chapel, but now all we can see inside, is the foundation of this edifice. They found out that there had been 12 construction phases, starting with the Romans. It must have been quite popular in its time, as it is still nowadays.

We were able to go out and take pictures of the breaker and the marina. We had a great view over the city! The lady inside was quite excited when she found out we were Canadians. That was cool!

We walked on the breaker, where this edifice is located. The waves were quite wild and they splashed on the rocks for a spectacular view. By the way, the breaker is a great place to take pictures of the Ermita Santa Ana, as well as other tourist attractions. We can walk on the high wall, or the low wall. Quite neat! I preferred the high wall, as I could see the waves playing around the rocks!

However, the Ermita Santa Ana is a must to see. Quite enjoyable!

Not much here but beautiful views
Jul 2016 • Family
There isn't much left of the church but it does offer great views of Castro. Worth a quick climb just to look out.

Beautiful views of Castro
Sep 2014
Although there is not so much left of the Ermita, a climb to the top will give you beautiful views of Castro and it is common to see people jumping from here into the sea on hot days!
