A great dive center on a local island run by Ibbu and Julia, perfectly located next to some of the most famous spots in the Maldives such as Kandooma Thila and Embudu express. Unlike most corporate-run resorts, they are truly keen on developing sustainable tourism in the area. They are currently working on turning South Male atoll into a shark sanctuary and creating educational programs for the local communities. If you choose to dive with Bubbles, you're not only guaranteed to have great time, but you will also be contributing to an important cause.

In the last week of March 2023 My wife, a friend and I visited the island Gulhi in the Maldives and we spent 4 days of that week scuba diving. Of the 2 dive centers on the island, we chose to dive with Ayala Bubbles which was located right next to our accommodation.
From our first meeting with the staff, we were very well treated. The manager of the dive center presented us a fair price package and subsequently he did a great job of showing us some very good diving. We brought our own dive gear, but I noticed that all equipment available in the center was in very good condition and well maintained.
Diving around Gulhi is very variated – I have been diving for nearly 30 years with many trips to dive destinations around the world but never have I experienced to meet a Hammerhead shark, Tiger Sharks, large schools of big Sting Rays, large schools of Eagle Rays, schools of Nurse Sharks and at the same time experience diverse coral reefs……and I nearly forgot … a lot of Dolphins we got to free dive with. The dives ranged from calm cozy diving with time for photography to dives in ripping current, so the area presents dives for all levels of scuba diving.
The crew on the large dive boat was very helpful and friendly and the equipment was always handled with care when transported from the dive center to the boat and back. The same applied for our cameras when getting in and out of the water.
The dive center is in a process of expanding their activities by securing rooms at Hotel Ayala Ocean View that will be available for divers. The reception of the hotel and the front door of the dive center is located opposite each other across the street.

Try to dive with these guys. They surely know what are they doing and it's a lot of fun to do some activity at the island, instead of just laying on the beach.
If you go for a dive, you will probably get an instruction dive at a beach in shallow water. I had tried diving before, but I'm glad that I refreshed some information. It's surely not waste of your time.
What I liked about the dives themselves was that it was possible to discuss with the divers in advance what do you want to see, e.g. corals or turtles. If it's possible somehow, the guys will take you to the place where you could see those things, according to your requirements.
Prices are very much targeted at tourists, but this is expected and I still think they are worth the experience.

We had a fantastic time underwater with Iuliia and Dude. Divemaster Iuliia introduced us to the world of scuba diving without any fear or stress, and this is a very important for beginners... Thank you for the time together and for the PADI certificate :)) See you next year!

we dived with julia and dude. we dived in an amazing point. we saw bulls, tigers, spinners, rays... all equipment is new, in super condition. very very friendly atmosphere... dude took us for an island tour in the evening to show sharks on the bay. very safe, super fun, smiling faces...
and julia made a mermaid session with my daugter. she made amazing photos... my daughter was very happy.
