Clearly been taken over by new staff. very experienced, welcoming and obliging. Could not have seen more on our dives - grey reef sharks, eagle rays, lion fish, turtles etc. have dived in a lot of places and this was outstanding!

Let me start my saying the diving itself was amazing. Unfortunately the dive for me was spoiled by the attitude of the lady in charge who spoke to me like I was a naughty schoolboy to the point of wagging her finger at me!! I appreciate that they are running a business but it also felt like some of the ‘legal requirements’ were dependent on whether they could bring in extra money or not ( legally needed a $6 dive computer but could go on a 30m adventure dive as only an open water diver).

I can fully recommend Dive-Ocean as a PADI 5* centre.
They go above and beyond caring for you whilst staying on the Island of Biyadhoo.
Our week was looked after very professionally by Andrea, Pierre and Marco. - As well as the boat crew and compressor guys.
The week started with a standard orientation dive on the house reef with Pierre.
The following dives were decided the day previous, however they were always dependant of weather / tide / surge conditions. We also changed dive plans when travelling to the original dive site planned due to animal sightings. - this lead to two great dives with encounters of Atlantic Manta Rays. (up to 11 on the second dive)
Andrea was very knowledgable to every dive site in the area and exactly where to drop in to get the best dive.
Pierre was always entertaining above and below water and is a very calm Instructor to set anyone who was nervous at ease.
Marco was very helpful in sharing his knowledge of the sites and where to go to find something exciting.
----------
The best dive sites I could recommend would be Kandooma Thila, here we were surrounded by Grey Reef Sharks.
Manta Point, If the Mantas were there for cleaning.
and the House Reef for the night dive and t be surrounded by the 20/30 Nurse sharks that turn up.
-----------
The morning dives were deeper (30m) and I would recommend getting up to join them.
The centre only has 12L or 10L Aluminium cylinders (no 15L on the island)
We took our own kit to save on hire costs, but full kit inc SMB/Computers/Torches are available.
The centre itself is well laid out and has accessible cleaning stations, showers and storage areas.
--------
If you have any questions before you arrive then they are very eager to communicate via email (the response time wont be instant due to the fact that they will be diving / time zones)
I would recommend the school to anyone who wants to start or continue their underwater experience in a great location.
----------
The hotel itself is pleasant enough but slightly outdated, I would recommend trying to get a fully inclusive deal to save some costs esp at the bar.
We didn't spend much time there except to write up our dive logs / review footage and chat with fellow residents and sleep until the next dive.
Snorkelling on the house reef was very rewarding once you swam out to the reef edge. There was alot of evidence of coral damage/bleaching close to the shore with guests not paying attention to the "no walking/touching" signs which was sad, but the Marine life does appear to be thriving.
Also Full Face snorkelling Masks were not allowed (but this didn't seem to stop some guests)

Fantastic diving with a fantastic, friendly, professional team.
The staff could not be more helpful and the variety of big and small fish was mind blowing.

Hi all,
I visited biyadhoo resort from 30th April to 4th May 2019, I must say the resort was very good and clean, the rooms are spacious but quite old fashioned.
Staff was very polite and well trained, food was excellent ( For vegetarian its not because my wife is vegetarian and she got very fewer options)
So till 3rd of May morning, everything was very good and nice, we enjoying our holiday we roaming around there and where.
After breakfast we were roaming and went scuba diving area (On last evening also we went there but it was closed), we asked for plan "Discover Scuba Diving" and they said the price is $105 for 45 mins.
They gave us some papers forms to fill, while filling the form my wife was nervous as she never did swimming so we asked the lady who gave the form and she replied " No worry the guide will be with you" ( Till that time no one told us about what happen when we cant continue for scuba).
After that, they said us to watch some training video which was around 30 mins long, when we finish it they told us to come by 2 PM, so after lunch, we came to scuba desk, they gave us the scuba dress and shoes.
Once we wore the dress trainer started the training for breathing with cylinder pipe (We are still in the surface) as the pipe made with plastic my wife feeling vomit after some attempt so she asked to quit.
Then one guy came and said you have to pay 50% of amount as you filled the form and watched the video so after some argue my wife quite. Now I am going alone for scuba once we reach to sea trainer started the training.
When I wore my shoes I felt its quite tight and to adjust the shoes it took much of my time. Once we sorted the trainer started the training about breathing inside the water, as it was my first attempt to scuba I was not able to hold my self so long inside water and came several times out so my trainer said as you are not able to hold your breath ( its but obvious it will take time to practice) so we can't go in deep so I did my scuba just in 5 - 6 feet water (Can you imagine it was scuba), after 8-9 mins he told you finished your 45 min slot and we have to finish it now so I came out without feeling what "scuba is" :(
On last day when we got our final bill from resort we got surprised as they added the full amount of scuba which was $210, so we discussed with the lady who was part of scuba diving and she arrogantly replied: "You filled the form and watched the video now you have to pay full amount".
After some arguing, they were ready to charge 50% for my wife (so we paid $52.5 only to watch video).
Ideally, they should inform us of all the terms and condition before we filled the form.
For my case, they suppose to extend the time as there was no rush so they can encourage me to do scuba but they didn't.
So I lost my hard earned $ 157.5 with a very bad experience of scuba.
