You are on the island because of the glass. So, go learn something about how it is made and enjoy the demonstration.

Blowing murano glass technic was such an amazing experience. The glass expert did a demonstration that was perfect. This technique is not shown in schools, you have to learn it from a master and pass it forward. They will pass you to the store of murano glass, be ready to be amazed.

This trip was such a value for money!! Extremely interesting and informative! The glass-blower was phenomenal and so creative! The huge variety of items made was 'mind-blowing' LOL....Also you can purchase a beautiful piece of jewellery, tableware or an ornament. Definitely worth a visit!

They are one of the few that don’t pay commission to bring people to their store

I am giving them 5 stars because they were were kind and walked is through what we were looking for. We ended up not buying anything and all was well. When we are ready to buy a piece we will call them to arrange an order as they ship insured to the us for €110.

A decent display of glassware manufacturing
Apr 2016
This is fine if you are going specifically because you are interested in purchasing some glass ware. If you have booked this as part of a trip to Burano then you will be a little bit disappointed as it eats into the time you get to spend on the beautiful island of Burano. Do not book this as an organised trip and get a bus boat directly to Burano instead. On the other hand of you are interested in purchasing some glass ware then this is the place for you.

Best glass blowing

My friends and I stumbled on Fornace Mian while window shopping on Murano. Having skipped the people trying to rope you in upon disembarking the vaporetto this place is a gem. They have beautiful displays of glass. Much of it too expensive for the average tourist but the young salesman was the best. After we looked around my friend inquired if the glassware was made right here. The gentlemen asked if we would like to see. He escorted the four of us out back and gave us a very nice informative tour. You could sense his pride in their product as he told us the history of his shop, explained the process, and answered our questions. He encouraged us to take pictures and provided us with a wonderful experience. We were literally in the factory up close watching the men work! Definitely stop by. Many places in Murano offer demonstrations, but we found that some of them charge you. Others you sit on little platforms and observe from a distance, or you get to peak in the doorway. This place gave us our own private little tour.

Murano and its Glass History, come for the history, invest in its meaning
May 2016 • Friends
As part of my first visit to Venice, I was very interested in learning and finding two of Venetian's historical products: its masks and its glassware.
There was only one authentic place that can be found for glassware; and that is on the island of Murano. Renown since Roman times for its creative skills and Italian style; I really was intent on finding something beautiful as well as functional, and affordable.
As an independent traveller over many years; as well as a salesman in my own business; I'm quite used to "snake oil sales pitch" and "a good line"; and some of the shops are very professional at finding the sucker tourists.
But, I let my nose doing the hunting out; and turning down the very expensive but beautiful items that can be found; and ended up in this glass factory/showroom.
I had a strict budget and an idea of what I was looking for (i.e. wine glasses) which reflected some of the famous techniques and styles which I'd studied about before travelling (as an ex-teacher for many years, this is my researching skills).
Yes, the salesmen are very good, and for the unwary will take advantage. They're on commision, and are working for the factory. But if a person is clear and resolute; you can find something unique; reasonably priced; and authentically Murano Venetian and a quality memory that will forever beautify a home.
I bought two stunning wine glasses embedded with gold into the stem for $50 per glass plus shipped to the UK. They now sit pride of place during my dinner parties; and bring a touch of Venetian memories and Italian style to the conversation.

Lovely, unique pieces...worth the stop
Sep 2015 • Couples
Our hotel set us up with a demo of their glass blowing. Afterwards, they take us to the gallery so we can see things by other artists. We ended up falling in love with a blow glass Picasso-esk head that we LOVE! Worth the stop

Couldn't make up my mind about a lovely little frog prince piece. The clerk was helpful and discounted the item. After thought I decided I could not live without my prince. The clerk was humorous and helpful.

We found this place by chance having taken a trip to Murano. The demonstration was really interesting and we were amazed how the ornaments were made. The shop had lots of really lovely gifts and at reasonable prices.
