The sand is made of quartz so it squeaks when you walk on it! The whitest sand I've found in Victoria, such a beautiful beach, on a hot day the cold sea water is devine - so clear and refreshing

I visited Squeaky Beach for the first time, while my partner reminisced about childhood memories. We decided to walk there from the Tidal River campground which is a 50-minute walk to the beach. It's a long slog up the hill but once you get over...More

We visited Squeaky Beach for the first time today. The beach is just amazing, soft white sand, beautiful clear water, and surrounded by huge rocks. The car park is bitumen and easy to access, and then a short level stroll to the beach. We went...More

long and wide beach (at low tide), easy to access from the parking lot (ca 3-400m walk), some big boulders placed on its right side for increased photographic attractiveness. late afternoon is great for pictures. great place for a swim if the weather allows it

Very nice place to visit and have a swim. The squeaky sand didn’t squeak when we were there, haha, but that didn’t matter. When the tide is low the beach is 100 meters wide, beautiful.

Even without the sand squeaking beneath your feet this place is stunning. The fact you can revert to a child by making a noise makes it even better. There is a lot of space and getting your own bit of the beach is easy.

The winds here blew over 100 kilometers per hour. The sand shrapnel pelted our legs and got into our mouths.

Photos don’t do Squeaky Beach any justice. This beach is a must visit. You’ll feel as though you’re not even in Victoria anymore

We visited as part of a longer walk - starting at Picnic Bay, then Squeaky Beach and Norman's Beach and back the way we came. The weather was very wet when we reached Tidal Beach and so we sheltered with a coffee. On the walk...More

According to the "Visit Prom Country" website, "Dogs, other pets and firearms are not permitted." Also, I did not see anyone with dogs when I went there.

There are warm shallow spots at Squeaky Beach, especially if it's been a hot day. The water isn't too murky, clean enough for a river. I'm sure your son will love it, especially if you're in the water with him. You've got... More
