It was an excellent idea to create on the border of the two countries Exhibition Hall. Their exhibitions are always a source of knowledge and beauty. In addition, at home we had have three reminders fot these exhibitions, and certainly not remain with them.
Great things often occur quietly and in unknown places

The “Kunsträume grenzenlos” “ art gallery in Bayerisch Eisenstein, is only some 100 metres from the German/Czech border next to the train station. It opened in 2013 in a well restored old post office building. The gallery is on three floors, the top “loft” open-plan floor is very pleasant indeed. There are works by contemporary painters, graphic artists, sculptors, glassmakers from both sides of the border, mainly on the first and the third floor, some are for sale. The second floor is used for special exhibition, currently showing works by Marc Chagall and Mark Angus. On the ground floor there is also a mini “cinema room” showing documentary films on glass making; and a gallery shop with a selection of local produce, regional craft products in glass or wood and more, certainly worth a browse. The staff are bilingual (German and Czech, with some English). As there is no café in the gallery, visitors are given 1 euro vouchers to spend on refreshments in the Schmgglerhutte restaurant next door. We went to the gallery on a Sunday afternoon (opened till 1730) during our stay in the region. It was a good choice, I would recommend.
