Far away from any civilization, closest thing is the restaurant in 30 min walking distance, this place offers the ideal disconnect from day-to-day issues and so it's a perfect place to stay for refreshing energies. There is only one person who speaks English pretty good, one more who is progressing well with it - however except of the booking process, during our stay we had no problem to communicate with the staff. Furniture not the newest one, however it's part of the overall feeling which is pretty much connected to their Tuscany roots so if you see it from that perspective, it's acceptable. The bed was below average comfort, tiny bathroom not helping much to improve overall picture. Kitchen is nice offering space like in the Italian movies from the 20th century.. Also, the espresso maker is vital part of the kitchen so get ready for some real caffeine! The bottom line is that we did not stay too much in the place, were travelling around in the major tourist spots like Florence, Siena, Cortona - so the place was efficient and acceptable for us. The pool is really perfect for families with kids. Although I have had no luck yet to visit other accommodations in Tuscany, I have a feeling that this place is pretty much the average of that standard in this price range. Looking for a better quality requires paying the premium also, most likely.

Overall, the hotel seems to be managed by an incompetent team. It seems to us this used to be a nice property that is now mismanaged and lack a lot of maintenance. The staff doesn’t speak a word of English, only Italian, and they barely look at you when arriving. The bathroom is full of moisture and the quality of the breakfast is bad. The swimming pool is at about 2km from the hotel (you need a car to get there). It was still ok when we were there, but it clearly lacks maintenance. Finally, while we paid the entire amount due at arrival, nobody was aware of this when we left and we had to insist to make clear we had already paid. Not a very attractive hotel.

Location, but nothing more! The food was truly the worst I've ever experienced in Italy. It's hard to do wrong with 'tagliata' (essentially sliced beef). The meat was awful and they must've served it with some oil other than Olive oil... is it possible? Regarding our other dishes, I cannot comment, as I'm still trying to rinse the salt from my pallet. The service is hard to describe, the waitress failed to bring our meals, and confused our meals the only other party in the restaurant... nothing positive to add.
