Maybe we came at the wrong time, but the best part of going to see the Moulin de Cugarel was the view out over the countryside.

Very nice tourist attraction, free entry (altho donations encouraged), very informative guide on site, great views from the top.

Moulin de Cugarel is an old wind mill located in the surroundings of Castelnaudary, a town in the South of France. It was built in the 17th Century and it was restored in the 20 th Century. In fact, it was one of some wind mills in the region, because they used the water of Canal du MidĂ (water channel of MidĂ). It is a nice historical point. When we arrived there the building was closed, so we only saw it from outside. Also, there are some beautiful views of the surroundings of Castelnaudary from here.

No sails on the windmill. Windmill locked and closed with no entry and no signs or reason why when advertised online as being open. Good viewpoint of the countryside etc. Little else to do in the city.
