Paseo Marítimo is the main promenade located in front of the beach in Playa Blanca town/resort, which is Located in the Southwest of Lanzarote Island. It is the typical place for tourists, where you can walk on the promenade and nearest streets, see good views of the sea and the coast or the Coloradas Castle, bath or sunbath in some beaches or come to play with children. Also, it is possible eat or drink something in some bars and restaurants, or buy all you need and more in some shops. Typical tourist place.

The paved sections of this walk are wonderful. The unpaved sections a bit hard going in sandals. I would recommend heading to the westerly facing section as the white horses are amazing!

I would also recommend being on this promenade at sunset.....just amazing.

The Paseo Maritimo is a great walkway that runs from the Papagayo Beach to the lighthouse - that I know of, and possible beyond.

It is just what you need after a hard day's sunbathing, and, before dinner.

There is a similar one on Tenerife, where the aim of that walkway is, eventually, to encircle the entire island.

This has the added bonus of having plenty of shops enroute to allow you to rest and refuel.

The sea walk seems to run right along the south coast (except for going round the port where development work in underway. Not too crowded and lots of nice landscaping round the hotels. The only drawback are the people trying to tempt you into their bars and restaurants every 5 metres.

To the lighthouse in one direction and to the Marina Rubicon in the other it is about a 4/5 mile round trip (from H10 Timanafaya Palace) for each walk
Look out for the spoon!!

Footpath runs from the marina to the lighthouse. Except for the part near the docks which are being refurbished, the path is a pleasant walk.

Our hotel, The Timanfaya Palace, was located right on this walkway, so we were able to enjoy walking here every day. The walkway is wide, very well used and in great condition. The views are quite spectacular whichever direction you walk in.

Fuerteventura is right across the ocean, about 25 minutes by ferry. The distinctive Isla de Lobos is situated in front of Fuerteventura and instantly recognisable. The seascape and cloudscape are fantastic and ever changing. So the views are breathtaking!

When leaving our hotel and taking a right turn we walked to the lighthouse and enjoyed wave watching by the beach. This walk is less busy than taking a left turn from our hotel and walking towards Rubicon marina. There are plenty of hotels, bars and the ferry port. As the path continues it is very busy with shops, bars and restaurants. A great area to dine and enjoy the views.

Rubicon marina is further along the path and is like a very upmarket village. Wonderful boats and bars. Extremely picturesque and worth visiting.

We highly recommend this pathway and thoroughly enjoyed our many promenades here.

We spent seven nights at the H10 Timanfaya Palace Hotel from the 9th to 15th of January, which is situated along this coastal pathway.

From the two hotel exits on to Paseo Maritimo, the choice is which direction to walk in. We did walk along the walkway, in both directions, on separate days.

On the first occasion we turned to the left and headed off in the direction of the Port and the Rubicon Marina further on, roughly four kilometres, which took over an hour plus as stopped so many times on the way.

There was rather a lot to see on the way including Mirador en Playa Flamingo, Playa Flamingo, Playa Blanca leading to the Port. Along the way, the path is lined with bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and cafes. There were a number of statues to see. Walking further along we made it to the Marina, which was like a mini village in it's right. We went beyond the Marina and visited the cliff top Castillo del Aguila o de las Coloradas.

The second time we turned right and headed in the direction of Faro de Punta Pechiguera Antiguo, which is also about 4 kilometres away. We did not walk all the way to the lighthouse we went as far as Playa de Montaña Roja about two and half kilometres.

This side of the pathway is less developed than the Marina side, however it is more picturesque with it's rugged and dramatic coastline. There were a few hotels and restaurants along the way, some were closed and had been for sometime, it added to the remoteness of the walkway.

~8km of paved promenade from Rubicon Marina to the lighthouse, though you can go further at either end.
Bus line 30 goes along the route in land a bit. Buses are very good value so you can get a bus to either end of the promenade & walk back😊.
If you’re going west along the Paseo Maritimo to the lighthouse, save your refreshment stop for Chiringuito Tropical, ~1.5km from the lighthouse.

We were staying in the Sandos Papagayo for 11 days. The hotel is right on the far(eastern) end of the promenade so we enjoyed the walk into Playa Blanca several times. It is good that the prom is paved and well-maintained along its whole length:it is an easy walk though it has several ups and downs, including flights of steps. It affords super views over the sea to Fuerteventura and up to the mountains. On the way to Playa Blanca the Marina Rubicon, with its shops and bars, are passed. It takes about 45 minutes from the Sandos to Playa Blanca.
