We turned up to the Grotte and booked a tour (1.5 hours, easy walking). The tour guide realised that the majority of the group (only 15 or of us) were English speaking, and so happily switched between English and Italian. She told us that during...More

The white stalactites, stalagmites and curtains of Castellana Grotto were spectacular. If you speak Italian, there is a 1.5 hour tour. if you speak English, check their website or ask at the ticket box when the English tours (1 hour) occur. Either way, even without...More

The caves were absolutely magnificent. Shame we couldn't take pictures inside the deeper caves. Amazing all the same. The guide was great giving us a lots of information.

What a huge cave and underground formation. Be careful when going down, the stairs is slippery, but you will have a magnificent view when you reach the bottom of the long stairs. The light which shines in from the top hole of the cave gives...More

The caves are incredible. The tour lasts about half an hour. There is enough lighting to help you navigate but it is slippery down there so be careful.

This is well worth seeing. the guide was knowledgeable and pointed out some interesting formations or colours that gave a part of the cavern its nickname. It really is worth taking the long route because the final cavern is the best example I have seen...More

Any photograph will not do these caves justice. Take the long route, because the last cave is by far the most extraordinary and it is not that far and not that difficult a walk, and there is a lot of stopping so there is plenty...More

We really enjoyed the long tour around the caverns that included all the top highlights in the cavern. Sadly, we do not speak Italian, and the long tour guiding was available only in Italian. If you like natural wonders, do not miss this one. We...More

This place is really a bit of a gem for anyone touring around Puglia. Only miss out if you are a bit claustrophobic. Otherwise take the tour, enjoy the information given by our guide and marvel at the sheer "grandeur" of this place.Well worth the...More

We took the long (2 hour) tour with an English speaking guide. The white room at the end of the walk is well worth a visit. Fantastic. I would not recommend to go during the high season. Too crowded.

Don't need hiking shoes. A lady on our tour had high heels- who goes in a cave with high heels on? We took the short tour-not worth it (read our review).
