This characteristic stairway is one of rare examples of steps very deep and very short together. It’s one ( for centuries the unique way) of the way to reach the ancient village and the castle over the hill

Once the only access to the old town, it is still considered as the main one and definitely monumental. It has large and low steps which were used in the past to make the climb easier for horses and wheeled vehicles. At the end of the stair is the monumental gate marking the entrance to the town.

Great views on the sides of the steps, pretty strenuous but well worth it, I don't understand the Italian ladies who can go down the stairs in high heeled shoes, it should be a gymnastics sport.

This beautiful staircase is your path into the medieval centre of the famous old town.
The benches and flowers lining the street before you climb up, invite you to rest and enjoy the panoramic views.
A wonderful start to what was a special day in Agropoli

The famous staircases that connect the small town of Agopoli and lead up to the medieval village. Crowded with people, going up these stairs during the evening hours you can breathe a different atmosphere, I love this spot, going up from here you can see the fantastic view of the harbor of Agropoli, a thrilling spectacle, then if you get the chance to be there during the sunset is even more distinctive.
