About
Ravagni since 1421 is a family business which is mentioned for the first time in 1421 at the Florence Archivies and it's included since 1980 in the list of Italian firms. It's pduction oil, wine, vinegar, seasoned oils, soaps, oil based creams and others particular products are handmade and following their season potentiality. The products are not only sold worldwide, but are used by the family itself, family which moved in this area already since the end of the 12th century. We tried and are still trying to keep the working methods as traditional as possible even if many times quality certifications laws and health laws try to bring you to the omologations of perfumes and tastes relatively to the products you normally find in the commerce.Certainly our products are not the best of the Italy but they surely are simple and true. The Proffesor Giacomo Bartolomeiof Ravagni also prints and edits local and Italian history books and not only this.We have real but also virtual shops but we prefer to invite famalies, school and people coming from all over the world in order that they can see, smell and work if they want...

We had a short tour of his olive press and then went to his house for lunch which is in the most amazing setting. He made us feel at home, the food was delicious, Francesco is a great host, we had lots of laughs. Unfortunately, we we didn’t get to see his olive trees but we did sample and leave with some of his olive oil. The excursion is great value and highly recommended.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 15 April 2023

We have 3 teenage children and we all loved it. Fun learning about traditional olive oil production, but the experience of spending time at Francesco’s table, in a 450 year old family house, high in the hills, whilst tasting olive oil, enjoying lunch and wine and the other products they make - it was fantastic. We all left with the biggest smiles and bottles of oils. Thank you Francesco.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 July 2023

Francesco and his wife, Olivia, were exceptional hosts and were incredibly wonderful to speak with. We learned so much more than just about olive oil and wine making. The homemade lunch was great and we were able to choose items to be shipped home. Without question, this was one of the top experiences that we had on our trip.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 February 2024

If you are looking for a unique, authentic, interesting and fun experience - this is it! It was fantastic to see the mill and hear some of the nearly 600 years of history. Francesco quickly makes you feel like friends and not only do you get the chance to taste some amazing olive oils, but you get a sense of the “slow life” of italy with a wonderful lunch in great company. We will never forget our afternoon!

After a great presentation at Tuscookany we ordered several bottles of RAVAGINI 1421 olive oils to be shipped to USA! Francisco really came through this week! One of our bottles of White Truffle Oil was broken in shipment and after we emailed, he immediately shipped a replacement, and we are very grateful! Can't wait to try his amazing oils here at home!

Francesco and his family have created an olive oil that is one of a kind and great tasting that dates back to 1421. During our tour of the mill we could see his passion for his family business. We then got to visit his home with a home-cooked meal that was wonderful. We got to taste the variety of his olive oils and beauty products made with his olive oil. The meal was delicious and our group even finished it off with a dance party. While I don't have pictures of the actual product the view from his home was amazing. Would definitely visit again.

Has anyone had trouble getting products they bought and had Francesco ship? We are going through many months of waiting for ours, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Yes, we waited about four months, then about half our order came in. About three months after that, the rest of our order came. So, he did finally come through; my wife kept hounding him! I wonder if he ever has very much olive oil on hand? As much as I love Francesco, part of his charm is the free flowing spirit he has - maybe his personality doesn't lend itself to punctual sending of products. One more important thing... the first delivery came, no questions asked. The second part of our order was held up by Fed Ex. I had to tell them it was from a person, not a business, or they would send it back.

Hey there, I am pretty sure that you will have to make arrangements. It's not the sort of place you just drive up to. It's his families home/business. I think you will have to send a note and set up a visit. Highly recommend!
How much to do this tour ?

I think it was 30 Euros - which for the amount we ate and drank was excellent value.
