I very much enjoyed our stopover in San Vito. The seaside is very nice, and the coastline is scattered with old ruins, which makes it all the more enjoyable and picturesque.
The Abbey of San Vito is also just across the street, which is also a good sight to visit.

Rocky and scenic, not as crowded as some spots. It's a decent place to swim, but there are better spots down the coast. Free parking. Some spots good for kids, depending on swimming ability and strength.

Unfortunately this abbey built in the 10th and 11th centuries, is owned by a private family, so, not possible to visit, excepted the restaurant which is on the Northern side of the abbey. The natural harbor is filled by colorful small fishing boats, the rocky beach just beside. An ideal place to swim around in crystal clear water. Avoid this location on Sundays, because even Italians love this place!

A beautiful local beach (spiaggia) for swimming and waterplay, with the usual maverick parking all over, with a seemingly endless stretch of perfect clear Adriatic to swim in, but with an amazing rocky lunar surface just under the water, so bring water shoes. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Reminds me a bit of Botanical Beach tidepools near Port Renfrew (Victoria Island BC Canada), but lower elevation with lesser tides so you don't get the tiny self-contained ecosystems.

Beautiful swimming in crystal clear water that was the perfect temperature. Mostly a rocky shoreline which made getting into the water tricky, but well worth the effort.

I am coming back to San Vito just to take a walk by the sea and for its cozy atmosphere in the bay with small fisherman boats of vivid colors. Great to combine with lunch in one of the restaurants and my favourite la Loccanda della Abbazia that is just at the main street entering San Vito. Weather permitting its nice place to jump from main SS16 if you are near by.

this is the place to walk and get a sense of the town. along the sea, with gorgeous views, the funny statue of the singer famous for "Volare," and easy access to the historic center
