The garden around the castle are really nice and when there's good weather, perfect for a picnic. The castle it's self is nice enough but it's very hollow. So from what ever level you are on you get the same view of it all the...More

Rochester Castle has loomed over its city and river for nearly 1,000 years - fought over, redesigned, altered and now a tourist attraction. For the moderately fit, and, among them, those who do not suffer from vertigo, it is well worth climbing up to battlement...More

Well worth a visit in a very nice setting and well preserved. Have to climb a lot of stone steps not suitable if elderly or infirm. Able to walk round each level with some very good views over Rochester worth the climb to the top.
