We had seen this little museum advertised and would agree with reviews on here- museum is free and does feel a little tired in places. We also felt it was rather oddly laid out with little thought for a timeline or grouping of displays in...More

We spent quite a number of hours viewing the displays at the Guildhall museum. It gave a good overview of the Medway river & good displays.

This gem of a free museum deals with all aspects of the rich and varied history of this fascinating area. Even rises to special free exhibitions too. Congratulations to all concerned.

This museum was a pleasant surprise in my visit to Rochester. It has some enlightening galleries about the sieges and events in the thirteenth century, the English Civil War and the First World War. The highlight for me was the 3 level replica of the...More

Excellent for younger and older children - model of Rochester Castle under attack and a visit to the Hulks much enjoyed by a 3 and 8 year old. The museum is small enough not be too overwhelming. Even museum haters would enjoy it. And it’s...More

This is a very interesting museum and like most it’s free entry. You can easily spend a couple of hours or more in here. If you are in Rochester, going to the castle and this museum is well worth it.

Something for all ages in this beautiful building. Also a fascinating recreation of a 'prison' ship. Heartily recommend for art, wonderful sculptures and excellent 'hands on' for children too. FREE with excellent and helpful staff on hand. Ask away!
