We went not knowing what to fully expect.
Loved the cable car, trips into caves and mines.

Interesting but overpriced
Oct 2021 • Couples
This was reasonable fun for the 4 hours or so we were there, but it felt overpriced
The "highlights" are the 2 show "caves" which are actually worked out lead mines. Interesting, but not "Cheddar Gorge".
Can be a bit of a climb to get to its furthest extremes.

Cafe a bit of a service shambles. We just wanted a hot drink and a cake. All of our order was soon ready behind the counter, the drinks made and getting cold, but cash till operator wouldn't provide them until others ahead in the queue had received their hot food which they were waiting for.... And waiting...and waiting. It would not have hindered others in the queue for our order to be handed over "out of turn"

Heights of Abraham, an amazing experience
Sep 2021 • Couples
I’ve always wanted to go on the cable cars. I loved every second of it. The ride to the platform was amazing and I loved the cave as well in the country park. Well worth a visit around Matlock.
Booked into local premier inn.

A superb way to spend a few hours; well worth the entry fees. Cafe and toilets spotless. Staff lovely. Everything thought of; they’ve got it right.

Great day out
Oct 2021 • Couples
Lovely day out however cable cars had to stop because of the wind therfore we had to walk down (felt sorry for the families walking up as very steep.) The cavern tour was amazing and it was lovely to see families with young children having so much fun with the Halloween activities going on. Staff were brilliant and helpful 👏

Really good family fun
Oct 2021 • Family
Our kids (6 and 9) loved the tours of the mines/caves, in particular the one led by Matthew (very funny)! There were cool fossils in the exhibit, and the cable car was good fun. There is a good park/play area for the kids and nice cafe.

unique and exhilarating

Where else do you get to go up in a cable car and down a cave?! What an amazing and unique experience for all the family. We had a delicious lunch in the Vista. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Will definitely go here again.

A terrific day out
Oct 2021
We had a wonderful day out with our whole family. Our grandchildren are aged 4,5,6 and 7 and all thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly the cable car and the caverns, one of which was offering a Halloween special complete with witch Belinda Broomstick. I had thought the steep walk through the cavern would prove too much for the four year old but it was really safe and he coped well and loved it. There were also two great playgrounds and a good cafe so all in all it was a great day out.

Good fun and interesting.

This was a good way to spend 3-4 hours on a blustery and wet day. The cable car is smooth, the caves interesting with good guides and if you have kids loads of places for them to play and burn surplus energy
