We had the BEST tour with Monica! We did a lot of research thinking we would try some cicchetti on our own but ended up booking with Monica after we heard about her on the Untold Italy podcast. And we are SO glad we did. The tour was comfortable and really delicious. Monica was great company and we loved relaxing, tasting and learning about the food and wine. She was great with the kids and we never would have experienced the Venetian way on our own. I still think about the amazing food, we are going to try to make her special drink and the kids told everyone about our tour! We will certainly tour with Monica again! Highly recommend!

Monica is a terrific guide and an absolute pleasure as a human being. She is extremely knowledgeable in Venetian cuisine, wine and spirits. Not only did she take us to eat delicious cichetti and drink some terrific wines at some local hidden gem restaurants, but she also taught us all about the history and current day food and drink culture in the Veneto region. She is a kind and energetic spirit who can keep you on the edge of your seat and listening intently for hours. I would highly recommend any tour she offers. Oh and she is also a food author - very cool!

Monica was loads of fun and super knowledgeable of both Vencian wine and foods. We started off with a gelato & espresso drink that was amazing (and a needed energy boost!) then off to our first wine and cicchetti tasting. At the restaurants and while walking Monica offered insights into the history and culture of Venice all very interesting. My wife and I had a great time. I’m not even a fan of wine, but this wine was great! I need to find out how to get some in the USA.

Cicchetti Tour of Venice - Mid October 2022. I had been waiting a long time for this tour......first because of Covid and then because my own trip was postponed....but finally the day arrived and we met with Monica by the bridge that crossed at Piazzale di Roma across the canal. I was a little surprised that the first stop was for ice cream - it was a very warm day, (especially for October) and the ice cream was delicious, but looking back, I would have preferred to jump straight into tasting cicchetti.

After the ice cream, we visited 2 places for the famous cicchetti snacks and glasses of wine. Monica told us a lot about the variety of local food and the history and types of wine - my only 'complaint', (or maybe 'observation' is a better word) is that it didn't feel as if we were really 'off the beaten track' or discovering real secret locations that only the locals visit. Maybe there just aren't any places like that any more. Or maybe the locals really do want to keep them for themselves.

The second bar was much closer to my expectation of a 'little known' place and alongside the snacks and wine, we also tried a delicious cocktail featuring cinnamon, which i didn't expect to enjoy, but was actually delicious!!

The late afternoon/evening passed by way too fast and ended too soon......it didn't feel as though we had been out and about in Venice for over 4 hours. Monica clearly knows her food, wine and local customs and history and has lots of stories to share. An interesting and interested tour guide.

Monica took us to places we never would have known about. She is friendly, warm and has extensive knowledge about the local and regional food and wine traditions. We had a blast (and ate and drank SO WELL)! We would happily take another food tour the next time we’re in Venice.

This tour was recommended in the Lonely Planet guidebook to Venice and I booked it hoping to learn a little more about Venetian cuisine. It ended up being everything I hoped for and more. Monica was an absolutely delightful host and so fun and easy to talk with, not to mention a fountain of knowledge on Venetian cichetti and wine. Her explanation of Venetian region wines helped me figure out why I don’t normally like reds but adored the reds she picked for us, so now I know to look for Veneto region wines at home! All of the food was wonderful as well. Would highly recommended booking this tour, especially early in your trip to get a better understand of how ciccheti work.

The cicchetti and wine tour was the highlight of our Venice trip. Monica is enthusiastic, energetic, and knows where to find the best cicchetti, wine, and gelato!! This was so much fun and so delicious. And the tour begins with gelato first! Monica, you exceeded our expectations! Much love!

My husband and I spent an evening with Monica on a Cicchetti tour in May. Monica's cicchetti tour was a highlight of our trip to Venice in May. We enjoyed some Venetian specialties and some great local wines. Monica introduced us to foods we would not have otherwise tried. Monica is friendly and very easy to work with. She gave us great tips for restaurants and other shopping interests. We loved every bite of the tour! Easily one of the best tours we have taken. For those taking their first trip to Venice... we would highly recommend one of Monica's tours for a great introduction to the city. If you are returning to Venice, Monica's tours are a great way to discover places only a local knows about.

Monica’s Cake and Chocolate Food Tour was a highlight of our recent trip to Venice. We started off by trying Italian hot chocolate and a delicious confection that’s only available a few times a year, and Monica gave us interesting information about both. After a few more delectable stops, we ended up at a chocolate shop, where we learned about different varieties of cocoa pods, where cocoa is grown, how it’s roasted, and how it’s processed. We also got to sample quite a few of the shop’s offerings, and I bought several of their products as souvenirs for friends and family back home. Monica herself is outgoing, entertaining, and extremely well-informed. I can’t wait to get back to Venice so I can go on her other tours!

I have followed Monica on Twitter for some time so I was already aware of her bubbly enthusiasm! We enjoyed trying the lovely wines and cicchetti and it gave us confidence to do this on our own in future. Monica also gave us excellent insider tips on where to eat, shop, and on exhibitions and cultural places to visit. It was a privilege to get a local’s viewpoint on this fabulous city. We’ve been to Venice before, but this tour gave us new ideas and perspectives, definitely worth it!
