A place that is a journey through history. A church and a cloister where architecture, light and art capture attention, staring a visual and spatial experience that will be memorable and impressive. From a convent to a prison, from the fifteenth to the early nineteenth century, from earthquakes to the restoration, a wonderful gem arrives until our days to affirm the value of our cultural heritage.

An unexpected delight on the edge of Modica alta. Recently restored the doorway and cloisters are well worth visiting. Interesting information in booklet and from woman at ticket desk.

Really fantastic old monastery and in the near past it was used as a prison. The nearby town is also lovely with its steep and narrow streets.

We found this church by happenstance, after the Tourist Office in Modica suggested to us that we park our car in a street nearby, and then walk down to the Cathedral. Before taking the car again, we decided to visit the church and the cloister...More

It was a pleasure to visit this church and ajoining cloisters. It is 15 century and was one of the buildings to survive the earthquake.

Had a very nice guided tour around with very nice guide who knows everything about the place :) Despite the unusual cold day, had a very warm welcome discovering the history about this church.
