Our family (including two teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Antonio.

We felt safe with his driving and enjoyed his expert commentary on Pompeii and Herculaneum.

There is no way we would have understood half of the area covered without his historical knowledge.

This tour was the highlight of our 4 day trip to Naples,

Learnt a lot and saw all the highlights and a lot more of Pompeii, Vesuvius and Herculaneum. Antonino kept us engaged throughout with stories about all the different aspects of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

We had an issue with our Vesuvius tickets (our fault) and Giuseppe quickly fixed it all up for us. Was a great experience to walk to the top of Vesuvius and see the steaming crater.

Our tour guide, Antonino, was fabulous. He was so informative about everywhere we went. It was like traveling with a historian. Antonino spoke English very well. His love of Italy was evident. He gave us great restaurant recommendations and was overall the happiest and easiest guy to be around. We had a tight schedule and he kept to it.
Would do it again!!!

Our driver, Pepino, was prompt and a good driver and communicator. We all had a wonderful time! Pompeii was the most wonderful of the ruins we visited on our cruise, including Delos, Acropolis and Olympia. Our guide at Pompeii, Anna, was the best! Get there when it opens to miss the crowds. We didn't go to Positano due to time restrictions and traffic, but we all loved Sorrento, and were glad we could spend time for lunch and a little shopping. We'd highly recommend this tour by A Drive Into the Blue. Our only regret is spending just one day in the beautiful Naples area.

This tour operator cancelled on us the Monday before we were supposed to take the tour(on a Wednesday). The only explanation was we were too few...for a private small group tour. There were only 2 of us, but if that were too few to begin with then don't allow the booking. Or cancel within a reasonable amount of time. We were unable to find another tour following this because even when I booked this 6 months prior, tours were filling up fast. Extremely unprofessional. If 2 is too small for a private tour, don't accept the booking. If you need to cancel, do so within a reasonable amount of time. Not 2 days prior

Our guide Antonino (Tony) was fabulous. He picked us up at hotel lobby in Sorrento. Drove us to Mt. Vesuvius and was informing us on history of eruption as we drove. Extremely knowledgeable and an excellent guide. We had a very informative ,organized day. Just what we wanted. Ask for Antonino.

We were picked up promptly at our accommdation by Antonino and from there the day started. He explained all about Mt Vesuvius on our way. He was very very knowledgeable about everything we spoke about. He showed us the best parts of Pompeii explaining everything about what we were seeing. When we moved on to Herculaneum he was just as knowledgeable. We all had looked forward to this trip and Antonino made sure we had a great day. We will visit the museum of archeology to see the things we spoke with Antonino on the trip. Throughout the day he always told us we could change plans but we were very very happy with the schedule. Amazing scenes from Mt Vesuvius of the bay of Naples.

Antonio cancelled our 6/21 Amalfi Coast excursion without notice, I only discovered it when I called him the evening before to provide him with our hotel location for pick up.

He said he had emailed me several days earlier to cancel because he was sick. However that was untrue, he actually emailed me several days before on 6/16 CONFIRMING my reservation. I’ve attached a copy of his email because he insists he never confirmed, but here it is. The email also mentions we amended the reservation, but we never did anything other than make a simple straight-forward booking. I’m not sure where is confusion is coming from - whether he mixed up his bookings, got a better offer or perhaps it was a language barrier situation - but the whole situation was unprofessional.

I made the reservation months in advance, as I knew we were traveling during high season. His cancellation left us in a lurch, and negatively impacted our travel plans as we only had a few days and had to scramble to reschedule things. Very disappointing. Avoid this unreliable vendor.

I am really sorry that you saw the Amalfi coast tour (not the 4 hours in Pompei as you confusingly indicated in your review) cancelled, I know very well what it means to organise a trip, moreover well in advance. A cancelled tour can be a source of great disappointment and frustration. I repeat, as I have already done several times that I am truly sorry. However, I think you have made a bit of confusion, I am afraid you have not said exactly how the events unfolded. 1) It is true that I confirmed the tour. It is not at all true, as you say, that I deny having confirmed it. 2) You wanted to waste time and energy, by posting a copy of an email, to prove something that I never denied having done. 3) In your eagerness to punish this 'nasty, nasty' operator through a bad review, you forgot to check your email box better, it is obvious because if you had done so, you would have found the cancellation email (the content of which I will post at the end of the response) that I sent you a good 5 days before the tour. I sent you that email as soon as I knew, on the advice of my doctor, that it would be best to hospitalise me to keep my health under control. 4) You call me unprofessional and unreliable. You even go so far as to speculate that I cancelled the tour intentionally because I would have found someone who would pay me more. I will not waste my time making a comment on the above. Quite frankly, I don't know what world you live in, I live in a world where health comes before everything. I have intentionally chosen to work as a craftsman not as an industrialist, precisely because I want to treat my customers one by one personally as if they were friends, not numbers or lemons to squeeze. Earning money is important in everybody's life, mine also, there is something in my job, though, that is worth gold, and it is seeing my clients happy at the end of a tour, that makes me feel like a billionaire. Having said that, please know that I fully understand the state of mind you were in when you learnt only a day before, through no fault of mine though, that you would not be getting the tour, and once again I say I am sorry. However, I do not think I deserved your words of contempt. I wish you a long accident-free life P.s. after so many emails we have exchanged my name is: Antonino, not Antonio (some more confusion?) As follows the content of the email I sent you on June 16th (5 days before the 21st) Antonino Ercolano 16 giu 2023, 21:01 a Catherine Dear Catherine, I am sorry to have to inform you that I have been just admitted to the hospital for a general check-up that my doctor says is necessary, I will no longer be able to provide you with the tour of the Amalfi coast next June 21st. I have no words to express how sorry I am. Please forgive me. Antonino E. A drive into the blue.
