Nubgwi beach is beautiful - but not entire! Northern part is like a hell and from Hilton it is a heaven. Carefully select your hotel, because you can be dissapointed

Had a 6 days holiday with my friends in Zanzibar. We chose the Nungwi area especially due to the beautiful beaches and the blue, clear water. We stayed at Doubletree Hotel by Hilton but also took walks on the beach until further away. Beautiful place...More

Lovely seashore with real white sand and special blue turquoise water color. Many special sea shells like red star you can find on the beach on low tide. It's also a good place for swimming. The disadvantage is the bothering of the Masai people. They...More

The sea colors are beautiful and the sand is surreal. But, this is it., unfortunately. 10 meters from the sea is full of garbage all around the island.

The water was so warm and great for swimming. But have to swim in the morning before while the tide is in. Once the tide goes out reveals alot of seaweed in certain areas and unsuitable for swimming.

Nungwi Beach can be accessed from a number of points, you don’t have to stay at one of the resorts. But you can’t go into most of the resorts unless you’re a registered guest.

The beach walk is great but depends on the tide. Not sure whether 20 km can be covered in between tides.
