    Beautiful
After a few days in stone town we moved to Nungwi (north of the island) and it was worth it. Nungwi is a beautiful clean beach with enough accommodations and restaurants. The locals are nice and friendly though some art vendors can be a bit annoying due to their selling methods but all in all the beach is worth visiting.

    Good beach
Nice beach, fairly clean, great sand. Local folks keep coming over, but not too aggressive, you can just politely refuse and they go away. Decent restaurants on the beach. At low tide, there are some sea urchins in the water, be careful.

    Turquoise blue water
This is the most beautiful beach on Zanzibar island, with its fine white sand and turquoise blue water. When the tide is low, the stretch from Nungwi to Kendwa becomes one beach and you can see a multitude of tourists enjoying a dip in the sea, sunbathing or walking along the sandy shores. There are plenty of nice restaurants and local shops, so you can be on the beach for the whole day if you want. I ended my day with a sundowner cruise on a big dhow boat and enjoyed the performance of awesome local musicians who played drums and sang Swahili songs. I liked the welcome song, 'Hakuna matata'. Indeed, hakuna matata in Zanzibar!

I'm not a beach type of person, because I do not like to get sunburn. I came to Zanzibar on a tour. My tour guide booked the hotel for me to stay at Nungwi Beach for four days. So I decided to put on my swimsuit bikini and swam an hour at this beach for fun. The beach was so beautiful. The water was so clear and warm.

One of the most beautiful and perfect beaches on Zanzibar and in my opinion top 10 in the world.

The water or crystal clear and the temperature is perfect. The only negative is the hawkers trying to sell you something every 2 minutes min stop.

Stunning beach on the north east tip of Zanzibar. Basically split into 2, one side has the luxury hotels which use this public beach, the other has a laid back feel with beach bars, where you can sink a cold beer and watch the fishing boats come and go.
There are a few shops , bars and restaurants further back from the beach. This is an ideal place to go for 5 star luxury or back packing

It's a pretty white sand beach, but the beach is overcrowded and we were constantly approached by people trying to sell sunglasses, boat trips, trinkets, etc. Literally every 30 seconds to a minute, someone would come up and then try to engage in conversation with the goal of selling something. It was exhausting, and there were some sketchy people around, so it's highly advised to keep a close eye on your belongings. Don't leave them on the beach on go swimming. While I appreciate that locals are just trying to make some money, there should be a much greater degree of government regulation around tourism. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and no one in our group would go back to Nungwi.

Undoubtedly the beach is beautiful and lovely turquoise sea . However, it feels totally overcrowded and, as many reviews mention you are constantly bombarded by people trying to sell you tours, sunglasses, curios etc. I know people have to make a living but it’s overwhelming. Beach is clean but outside this area there’s rubbish everywhere. Feels like the balance here has really tipped. We were a mixed age group 20’s to 60 and none of us enjoyed it.

White sand beaches; fresh lobster, shrimp and fish; water is warm and swimmable; beaches are very clean; no worries about safety; plenty to see and do or just relax on the beach. Go!!! You will wonder why you waited so long

The color of the water is beautiful turquoise, the beaches in front of the resorts are kept clean and the sand is white. Big downside: you are continuously harassed by people trying to sell you boat tours, massages, souvenirs,… you won’t have peace for a minute. Outside the resorts everything is extremely dirty, beach covered with plastic bottles and garbage. The “town” is extremely poor and people live in poverty. The roads off the main road are awful.
