We booked a shuttle ride for our group that left the Zion National Park Visitor Center to Temple of Sinawava to hike the Narrows the Friday after Thanksgiving 2020. We did this in order to avoid having to use the public shuttle. We used the public shuttle which costs only $1 on Thanksgiving Day, but you have to deal with long lines and a long wait back to the Visitor Center.
The cost for 11 people was $20 per person. They were on time and were amenable to picking up our group at two different times to take us back to the Visitor Center. Note that the driver does not (or at least in our case did not) help us with our gear.

My family, husband and two daughters 8 and 10, scheduled a rock climbing tour but when we learned it would rain all day, our guide Zack recommended we try rappelling. Zack was super flexible and really paid attention to our abilities, expectations and hopes. Instead of rain we got incredible snow! If you didn't think Zion could be more beautiful, check out those colors bursting from clean white snow. Breathtaking. Zack is super knowledgeable. We felt totally comfortable with him. You can tell he knows those canyons inside and out. It was really one of the most memorable experiences our family has ever had and I can tell it will take some time for the adrenaline rush to fade.

This was the highlight of my trip to Zion! The rock formations here were unlike any other I was able to hike to in the park, and you get to experience them in an up close and personal way. Kurtis was my guide and he was friendly, knowledgeable and put safety first at every turn. A half day adventure was enough time for about 5 rappels, all of which were unique and presented different technical challenges and amazing views. If you have a large group I would recommend a full day since each destination will take longer if you have more people. As a solo traveler a half day was great, but if I go back I'll do a full day because it was that much fun!
*Solo Female Travelers* this company is great to book with - it appears that all the guides are male, but there wasn't a single ounce of creepy feels to be had here. They describe themselves as "dirt bags" and are really just in love with showing people the beauty of this area.
*Bigger Body Travelers* This company is excellent to book with, they have the equipment you need to rappel safely and it is a judgement free zone - it appears they are able to accommodate all people who want to adventure!

We were not sure what to expect when we booked our canyoneering adventure, but our experience far exceeded our expectations. From our initial introductions when we entered the shop throughout our 5 hours together, every step was fantastic.
Jackson was our guide and coach for the day and he was fantastic.
Traveling with 2 adults and 2 kids under 10, we were incredibly impressed with the knowledge, patience, understanding and commitment to providing the best possible experience for our family.
He took the extra time to make sure that we all had a great time and really helped the kids feel comfortable in the climbs and rappels and they had a great time because of his hand holding and support.
We would recommend Zion rock and mountain guides to anyone looking to get out and explore more of what Zion has to offer and make sure to ask for Jackson!

We took a two hour “easy” canyon tour. The ATV was very nice and our guide was a good driver and made sure we were physically safe when scrambling up and down the rocks. We are not normally tour people but the slot canyons were gorgeous and it was worthwhile to have a guide and atv.
However I was disappointed that our guide refused to wear a mask, even when we asked him to, because “it’s not required by the county.” That doesn’t mean it’s prohibited or a bad idea. An awkward start to the tour, and I would not recommend this company until the pandemic ends. Also while our guide was physically very helpful and a good driver he was not really an expert on the area. I was expecting more knowledge.

We had a great time Canyoneering for the first time. Our guide Matt was awesome. Patient with my fear of repelling down the side of tall cliffs, made it seem easy & safe. My 20ish age boys both enjoyed themselves also. I would definitely recommend this to anyone over 10 years old!!

Best adventure trip I have ever been on in my life! We’re 6 martial arts instructors and we just had an instructors' retreat. We booked the “Under the Stars” trip. 3 of us were vegetarians and 3 were meat eaters, which worked out perfectly because one of our guides was vegetarian and all of the food he prepared for us was excellent.
We started out with mountain bike riding on the first day. Zack and Stephen were excellent at explaining to the beginner bike riders how to safely go downhill. We biked for about 3 hours. Had lunch then went up to the camp site which was on a lake and had a bathroom. It was secluded and we were definitely offline. Chilled for the rest of the day and had a great dinner. Spaghetti and vegan meatballs and ribeye steak for the meat eaters.
Day 2 - We had an early morning (5am) and had coffee and vegan breakfast burritos (tofu, peppers, onions, vegan cheese and salsa). We went canyoneering which was spectacular! We hiked up 3.5 miles up and then hiked and rappelled 6 or 7 times down. It was the first time rappelling for 3 of us. This was a tremendous experience for some of the guys who had a fear of heights but they overcame their fear and we made it down together. With Zack and Steve’s help, they were super detailed and patient on the entire process with us. This took about 5 hours then we ate sandwiches for lunch. Then we stopped at Walmart to get s’mores stuff and a propane campfire. We swam in the lake and had meat and impossible burgers for dinner.
Day 3 - early day again. This time, we went on two epic hikes. First, Angel’s Landing which was hard but well worth it. It’s dangerous at times, so take it slow if you need to. Then we went to the Narrows until we hit the fork before heading back. It’s about a 20min walk before getting to the water entrance. Make sure you get water boots with neoprene socks and walking sticks. This will keep your ankles safe and the walking stick will keep you stable (it’s a must). It’s a bit slow walking against the flow of the water and easier going back. This ended our Under the Stars trip.
Our guides made the experience awesome. A very special thanks to them, Zack and Stephen, for making this such an awesome adventure for me and all of the instructors! Such incredible memories to last a lifetime!

We booked the Zion Sunset Jeep Cruise in July to see some of the park that are harder to access and, I have to say, we got exactly that.
Have to admit that the first impression wasn’t the best: there was no one at the location when we arrived (15 minutes before our departure at 6p) and the phones weren’t being forwarded. Once our guide arrived we were able to get in and do all the necessary paperwork but the bathroom was dirty and there were no paper towels. Finally, I was hoping for a Jeep where we could experience a more outdoorsy feel so I was a little disappointed that we got a Yukon. In the end, this worked out well because it did rain on the ride and I was happy that we had a roof over our heads! The truck was definitely not the cleanest but it did the job.
Most important, Jeff was fantastic. He had great hiking and biking stories and was incredibly knowledgeable about the area. We got to see Koloa Canyon & Reservoir as well as the Lava Point Overlook and a few other notable areas on the outskirts of Zion. Be mindful that you can only exit the vehicle in areas that are outside the borders of the National Park.
My family of 4 had a great time and I’d definitely book again.

Hands down the best part of our trip to Utah — canyoneering by our knowledgeable, safety oriented, funny and fun guide, KURTIS aka TWO SHAAADDES! He tailored the experience to our comfort level and made us feel safe the entire time. One of our group members had a fear of heights and in no time he was rappelling from 140 feet. Great staff, amazing time. We had an profoundly incredibly time shakin’ it down, yo! And it was our pleasure to meet Adam’s very “deer” friend LOLOL! Best time ever 🙌🏼

We were on the fence about wanting to do this but are so glad we did! Myself, my husband and two boys ages 10 and 12 felt great after. We were all nervous but Stuart and Sebastian kept us laughing the whole way and made sure we were safe. It sounds like all the guides are great but I think Stuart is extra great! It is definitely not for the faint of heart and there is no beginner baby mountain so you have to be up for the challenge. You are also climbing UP mountains and at one point have to scale some tight spots so I would not recommend this to someone who is not fit. Kudos to Zion Rock Guides for being very patient with my questions and all my phone calls! Larry in the office was so helpful, so patient and made us chuckle a lot too:). I would definitely recommend Zion Rock and Mountain Guides for your Canyoneering adventure.

After the sunset jeep tour we drove back th Vegas and took the sundance helicopter tour to the west rim with lunch in the canyon. I highly recommend Sundance helicopters too. It's lots of driving. We spent a night in Page on the way back from monument valley. Rental cars are reliable, just fill up the tank.

My husband and I are heading to Zion & Bryce next week. We are more walkers than HIKERS but don't want to miss out on our 1 day in each park. Any suggestions, recommendations? Should we do this on our own & just walk along the "Easy" routes or would a guided tour be best to maximize what we will see? Thanks for your input. Yvonne
