Must See

The upper geyser Basin has a lot to look at. We were lucky when we were there because we saw Old Faithful go, then Castle a little while later and to top it off we saw Grand Geyser that goes about ever 16 hours or so. On our way back Sawmill geyser erupted. Not bad for timing at about 3 hours.

Amazing colors and pictures

We were surprised at the shapes, sizes, and colors of the mineral springs in the upper basin. Worth a stop!

A Great Experience!
Aug 2021
This was just a great place to go. Not only is there Old Faithful, you can go on a nice easy hike that is paved to see several more springs . We stayed at the Inn which was fantastic. We got to see Old Faithful erupt 7-8 times in a two day period because we stayed at the Inn.

The Path to Morning Glory
Aug 2021
So much to see! Great viewing for Old Faithful and a pretty long hike past many geysers to get to Morning Glory at the end. It rained really, really hard on our way back. We got completely soaked through and spent the afternoon drying everything out. Really large gift shops with a wide range of items on both sides of the parking lot.

Spend half day here

We used this place and old faithful inn as the base during our stay here, the trail is amazing to loop around. Suggest you do the same and plan to spend at least half day here.

A must see!
Aug 2021 • Couples
First get a schedule of geyser eruptions at a hotel lobby or Visitor Center. Then get a map of the basin from above or online. Old Faithful is a beautiful sight, but so is Riverside, Daisy, Grand, and castle geysers. While walking in the basin to your next Geyser experience, take note of the other geo-thermal features and hot springs like The colorful morning glory pool and punch bowl spring. Try to catch a night eruption. Wear comfortable shoes.

Old Faithful is the attraction
Jul 2021
Unless you're crazy about geysers and such, I'd skip this except for OF then do West Thumb and go to Mammoth HS to see the terraces. Our fav hike was Fairy Falls (just a really nice hike) where you see Imperial Geyser as well. We did several of the other short geyser walks like Fountain Paint Pots to get your fill with more diversity than this hike.

Gorgeous colors...
Jun 2021
I have to think this is the 2nd or 3rd most popular spots in Yellowstone; if you don't get there before mid-morning beware, the traffic backups trying to get into the parking lot are horrendous.

But once in, you're rewarded w/ some spectacular geysers and the colors. If possible, also recommend hiking the trail above the basin (separate entrance) as that will give you a unique vantage point.
