if you are in trani you have to visit it, however, a lot of it has been converted to offices and venues for exhibitions. It has been modernised, unless the original builders were good with double glazing! Their are no views from the upper area...More

If you have lots of time and are a real caste or history buff, you may choose to tour the castle. Otherwise, you can spend your time and money elsewhere. There is little to see

Frederick II built 200 of these castles in Puglia. This one is interesting because of its location right on the sea. It has an interesting av presentation in many languages and some great archaeological exhibits. The castle in Bari is more interesting and of course...More

A magnificently restored castle. The rooms are empty, though there is usually a temporary exhibition on the premises. It was a Brian Eno music and light show in 2017. The overall impression is of a very worthwhile project that will appeal primarily to lovers of...More

The castle is big and beautiful form outside. Inside is empty. You walk through the empty rooms. There is nothing to see beside the sea.

This very large and imposing building is empty of everything other than a few signs of explanation in English. When we visited it also had an exhibition of modern art which seemed completely out of place. Not really worth the entrance fee

You can walk on the different parts of this castle, with an amazing view to the sea. It's a bit windy up there but its worth.

There are certainly more spectacular castles in Puglia, but this place is interesting and varied in its architecture and atmosphere. When I visited there was a lovely sound and light installation by Brian Eno in one of the big rooms. The castle clings to the...More

The castle is in pretty good conditions and it has some interesting architectural elements. It would be nice though to have some exhibits in the large empty rooms.

The castle looks interesting from the outside but inside it is a different story. Lots of empty rooms with the occasional nice view of the sea. For many years it was a prison and hopefully in the future it will be an attraction worth visiting....More

I am sorry, I really do not remember if it is wheelchair accessible. I do recall that we needed to use stairs, but do not recall if there was an elevator option. You may need to reach out to them directly. In my opinion... More
