About
The Secret Lagoon natural pool is located in the village of Fludir in the Golden Circle area. The historical surroundings have been kept natural and simple for a unique and authentic experience. The pool is surrounded by several hot springs, including a little geyser, providing the pool with fresh warm water, maintaining a temperature of 38-40 °C throughout the year. In the winter the northern lights can often be seen in the area and what better way to experience the light show than relaxing in the warm water surrounded by the steam from the earth? The Lagoon offers brand new facilities next the hot spring with showers, bar and eating area. Food is not served daily but can be arranged for groups when arranged in advance. Feel free to contact the staff for any inquiries or for a group deal.

What a treat ! Had an amazing experience here in the rain, value for money. The facilities were clean and maintained well. We just turned up without a prior booking and they could accommodate us. Paid extra for towels. Simple and straight forward. The lagoon it's self was hot and even though busy enough room for everyone. The little walk around the decking was invigorating and the little geisers really added to the experience. They also had plenty of floats to use free of charge.
We didn't use the bar/cafe as we were too busy enjoying the lagoon it's self. 100% recommend will definitely go back !

Visited as part of a tour so entry was included. Wonderful stop, clearly somewhere the locals also visit which made it more special. Only a small rectangular pool with a small path around the outside to see the natural springs popping up around the pool.
Lockers included so no extra cost there, suits and towels can be hired. Changing rooms are traditional to the area, no private changing areas and you must shower naked before getting in the water but hey if everyone else is doing it?

The Secret Lagoon is an outdoor public swimming pool which is naturally thermally heated. There are separate male and female changing rooms but there are no private cubicles. There are lockers to store your clothes and valuables. There are plenty of noodles available to use will in the pool. The water is pretty warm so the pool is more for relaxing in than swimming. I would advise that you bring your own towel. You can also walk around the site and see little geysers, mud pools, etc. There is a small selection of snacks and drinks available. There is a spacious car park on site.

A less pretentious thermal spa, basic, clean, very affordable and welcoming. We arrived with no pre booking or towels and were sorted within a few minutes. The pool was relaxing and not crowded very peaceful and calm. There's a small relaxing coffee shop where we had a drink after and just soaked up the cool atmosphere. Be aware of the naked shower... but when in Rome you just have to go with the flow.

Free hair dryers an added bonus and plastic bags for the wet swimming costumes.

This place is an absolute gem. Facilities are excellent. Showers and lockers are extremely clean and safe. Very well organised as the reception shows you a short video on arrival explaining the dos and donts. Considering it is a natural spa. this place is very well maintained and civil. We visited around the last week of April at 11AM and stayed for a couple of hours. It was not crowded. Towels can be hired for GBP6. Best to carry your own. There are hot springs all around the natural swimming pool, which must be avoided as it is over 100 C. Do not miss this experience.

Absolutely loved every minute of our visit. We were very impressed by the Secret Lagoon. So calming! We felt it was probably less busy and more intimate than the blue lagoon which suited us more. Would definitely recommend as it was worth the money.

Great spot, felt very authentic and local. A very different vibe than the Blue Lagoon. I really enjoyed it. Would recommend.

I liked the secret lagoon. Don’t get the point of the naked shower and thought it could be more private but it was fine. The pool is very simple and the hot water felt nice. There were hairdryers to use which I didn’t expect and definitely a plus. It wasn’t too crowded and it had a relaxing environment.

Spent a great couple of hours here. Booked tickets in advance. As Brits, the only stumbling block was naked showers on the way in and out - but we coped! The whole place seems very clean, water was wonderful, not over-crowded. Challenged ourselves to take a walk around the boardwalk in just our costumes - pretty cold but exhilarating. Cafe on site did good hot dogs and a nice cup of coffee. We drove pas the Blue Lagoon later in the week and it looked very crowded in comparison and a trek to drive to. Would definitely recommend the Secret Lagoon.

A hidden gem - and Iceland’s oldest bathing pool. On our day, it was quite cold and the icy mist blending with the steam was so authentic!
