Visited here today and braved the cold to dip in the warm water. Met the owner who came when we were there to do the daily housekeeping required. Fabulous place, not too crowded as i dont think tour operators go there yet!!! Well worth the visit but don't get your hair wet or forget your towel!

We went at midnight minus 10 degrees but the water was lovely and warm. Under the stars watching the northern lights like stepping back in time. Wonderful experience.

Small warm water well, possibility to go in the water, quite authentic and nice, for the daring who are not afraid of the cold outside.

it is quaint and easy to walk to. The water is like a warm bath. Sheep do wander by. The "changing room" is open on one side to one of the soaking pools. So if you are modest plan to change at your car.

Forget what you see on the photo. It looks different now. Place extremely overcrowded, they let too many tourists in, numerous visitors staying outside and taking photos of others enjoying this natural pool. No privacy at all. No place to get changed.

very pretty natural setting. there was actually someone there collecting a set fee when we were there. (not donation box) we went about 7 pm and there were quite a few people but it is still lovely. not crowded by any means. pool to the left seems to be the warmest. very relaxing. clear, clean water. if you dont have suit on under--you just change there outside or in the little hut--which is open on one end to the pool. so if you're shy wear your suit there. short 5-10 min. walk from parking lot.

A genuinely unique experience to Iceland. How many times in your life will you get to soak in a natural hot spring that hasn’t been turned 100% into a tourist trap? This is way off the beaten path and they do a great job limiting the numbers.

Do not go if you’re the least bit shy though. You’re changing into your swimwear right in front of god and anyone else that’s there at the moment. I’m not exactly shy so it wasn’t an issue.

Warm, relaxing and like most of Iceland an absolutely unmatched view.

A pretty magical place, but we were lucky. It's really small and would have been decidedly less magical had we showed up an hour later along with many other visitors pulling in when we were leaving.

We ended up here on a whim because another hot spring around the corner was “too hot” for visitors. We are so happy we found this little gem. There is a car parked at the entrance where you pay a small fee ($24 US for two adults and two children). After a short hike, approx 5 minutes, you’ll find the spot. There was another couple when we arrived. Two pools; the bottom pool is more natural with the top pool seeming to be the main pool. It’s well kept. You can change in the small building there. Our daughter (12) was creeped out by it - possibly too much nature. Haha, but our son (10), my husband and I absolutely loved it. Water is warm - not too hot. Thank you to the owners for allowing visitors access to your property.

It's amazing in both ways.

It is an amazing wild hot pool, that is obviously well maintained by the land owners, so you can be assured your donations are well spent. The water was not the warmest we've seen, but still manageable in winter (around 37C), and the small shelter helps to change back before travel to parking.

What is amazing for me as well is seeing those reviews before me. This is not a spa! This is a wild hot spot on private land that someone allowed you and us to use. You come here to be closer to nature (on bath in moonlight like us), not sit next to coctail bar. I understand that for many people 1k ISK is a lot shen exchanged to their currency (for us as well) but in Iceland it is relatively small donation to ask for.
